2017 Bmw 340i-gt-xdrive Tires

The 2017 BMW 340i was an iteration of BMW’s long-running 3-series of sporty sedans. The 340i is powered by a 3.0L inline 6 that develops 320 hp, mated to a 7-speed automatic and delivering 21 mpg city/31 mpg highway. For model year ‘17, the BMW 340i was offered in Base and GT trim levels, with BMW’s proprietary xDrive AWD system as an option. Chances are your 340i left the factory riding on Bridgestone Potenza S001, ContiProContact SSR, Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Pirelli P Zero or Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season tires.

When it’s time to shop 2017 BMW 340i tires, bear in mind that the 340i has an offset fitment, meaning different tire sizes front and rear. For a Base 340i, rear tire sizes can include 255/30R20 92Y XL, 255/35R19 92Y, 255/40R18 95Y and 255/40ZR18 (95Y). In the 255/40R18 95Y size, check out tires like the Bridgestone Potenza Sport, Yokohama Advan Sport A/S Plus, or Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season.

Front tire sizes can include 255/35R20 92Y XL, 255/40R19 89Y, 255/40R18 91Y and 255/40ZR18 (95Y) XL. Some great tire options in the 255/35R20 92Y XL size include the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Pirelli P Zero (PZ4 Luxury).

Just remember if you order summer or ultra-high-performance tires, they get a good part of their traction from a softer, stickier tread formulation. This softer rubber will harden and lose its grip in colder weather, though – summer and UHP tires shouldn’t be used if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
