That’s along with great handling and ride comfort, plus Falken backs this all-season tire with a 75,000 or 80,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty. That outstanding tread wear coverage can be chalked up to an advanced rubber compound and a rib tread that encourages long, even wear – our team notes a SimpleScore of 9.0 for longevity. Year-round grip is thanks to a combination of circumferential grooves, lateral grooves, and 3D sipes. These features are designed for an interlocking effect from all the tread’s systems, racking up a SimpleScore of 9.0 for handling. Finally, the Sincera SN250’s solid center rib and reinforced shoulders result in great road manners, steering response, braking performance, and cornering for a SimpleScore of 9.0 for handling. For the worst that winter weather can throw your way, there’s nothing like a studded tire to get you through ice and snow. The Hankook Winter iPike RS2 (W429) Studded is that kind of tire. The iPike RS2 (W429) Studded is Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rated for severe winter service and features a directional tread pattern with a wide center block, zigzag grooves to drain water and slush from the tire’s contact patch, and a dense network of 3D sipes that multiply traction with hundreds of extra biting edges. The iPike RS2 (W429) is pre-drilled to make it easy to install TSMI #11 studs in case of serious winter conditions (always check state laws for the legality of studded tires and any restrictions as to months when they can be used). Wear properties are excellent; Westlake backs the RP18 with a 45,000 mile warranty, and we give this tire a SimpleScore of 8.2 for longevity. We also need to mention the dependable year-round traction of the RP18, thanks to its all-season tread pattern of circumferential grooves, angled/lateral grooves, and a dense network of sipes. Taking that into account, we give the RP18 a SimpleScore of 8.1 for traction.
