  • Yokohama Advan Sport ZPS

Leading Japanese tire manufacturer Yokohama tires is popular for its tire designs and technology, and offers a wide range of tires for different vehicles.

The Yokohama Advan Sport ZPS is an ultra-high-performance tire designed for use on performance and passenger cars. The tire is designed to deliver excellent performance and ensures reliability at high speeds. In this Yokohama Advan Sport ZPS tire review, we will take a look at some of the features and benefits of the tire, its pros and cons, and SimpleTire’s view on the tire.

    Features and Benefits

    Yokohama Advan Sport ZPS

Ultra-high-performance tires are designed for use on high-performance vehicles and can work efficiently when driving at high speeds on paved roads. When driving at high speeds, the tires can heat up so the rubber compound is heat-resistance and optimized.

Being an ultra-high-performance tire, the Advan Sport ZPS delivers excellent performance. The tire combines Yokohama’s signature performance with the Zero Pressure System run-flat capabilities. Along with this robust combination of advanced technologies, Advan Sport ZPS also boasts excellent features. Here are some of the features and benefits that you should take a look at:

    • Increased performance: A Nanotechnology tread compound, high-grade silica, and polymer are bonded for increased durability, flexibility, and performance on dry and wet roads.
    • Excellent wet traction: Variable rounded grooves prevent one-sided abrasion and four wide circumferential grooves evacuate water for enhanced wet traction.
    • Longer tread life: The groove-in-groove configuration controls stress to improve handling and reduce irregular tread wear.
    • Run-flat technology: A unique sidewall reinforcement with low-heat generating compound, supportive bead filler, and durable bead wire helps the tire run even when deflated. This means that drivers can expect to go up to 50 miles at speeds less than 50 MPH after a puncture or pressure loss.
    • Backed by Yokohama’s Promise: Yokohama covers its tires with Yokohama Promise which includes a 30-day trial satisfaction guarantee.

The Yokohama Advan Sport ZPS is available in different tire sizes ranging from 16 to 21 inches.

    Pros and Cons

Now that we know more about the features and benefits of the tire, let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons as well.

    • Excellent performance for performance and passenger vehicles.
    • Build to be durable and reliable on paved roads.
    • Run-flat technology provides extra security in case of deflation or loss in air pressure.
    • Backed by Yokohama’s 30-day trial satisfaction guarantee

Also, take a look at these cons:

    • The tire should not be used in winter weather
    • Ride comfort could be better
    • The tread can wear out quicker than expected

Aftermarket rear wheels replacement for Mercedes CLS 500. Purchased Nov. 2018, completely bald with cord showing by January 28, 2019. Highway only, no racing or mountain driving. First time in 50 years of licensed driving, tires wore out in 80 days in less than 4000 miles. Installed professionally with recommended tire pressure. Purchased from Tire Rack.

One of the few tires that come in the size (205 55 16) and run flat. I am not a fan of run flat tires, but since the MINI is our DD feel more comfortable having run flat tires. A bit noisy but expected of this type of tire.
