SimpleTire’s view on Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires

If you’re an enthusiast who looks for out-of-the-box tires to enjoy during weekend adventures, or if you need a tire that can provide an exceptional driving experience on- and off-road, and most importantly in all kinds of weather conditions, then the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T could be the best choice for you. The tire gets a bold and aggressive design that appeals at the very first glance and on a practical note, it can do a lot more things than expected.

It is one of the rarest tires that has many good things to talk about. It is engineered to offer solid traction and grip on- and off-road and even performs better in wet and winter weather conditions. It is surprisingly quiet when you drive on the highways, however, vibrations could be very subjective. Neither the tire shakes the cabin with higher vibrations, nor it rides as smoothly as a luxury all-season tire. It stands somewhere in between, but more on the satisfactory side.

The steering responsiveness and braking performance of the tire are both admirable, and it even manages to provide you with the required stability in wet and wintry conditions. Yes, it needs some improvements when it comes to driving on city streets, but that could again be something very subjective since the vehicles it gets installed on are mostly meant for highway drives, occasional or extreme off-roading adventures, and weekend adventures.

It is very good on the durability and longevity front, and has tread elements to guard against cuts and chips, thus reducing the chances of punctures. The tire could be an expensive choice against some of its competitors, but it completely justifies the cost. On purchase of the Baja Boss A/T, Mickey Thompson offers a limited manufacturer tread life warranty of up to 60,000 miles. Moreover, there are a lot of rim sizes available, which vary between 15- to 24-inches.

The Baja Boss A/T is one of the top-performing choices in the category, and goes head to head with tires like the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, Toyo Open Country A/T III, Nitto Ridge Grappler, Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar, General Grabber A/TX, Hankook Dynapro AT2 (RF11), and Firestone Destination X/T.

So, if you’re ready to spend some extra bucks for a great performer, then this tire has got a lot of fun to offer you during your on- and off-road expeditions!

I've only put about 800 miles on them so tread wear is not a consideration for now. Handling, comfort, and road noise are all beyond expectations.

These are by far the best tires I've purchased. Aggressive tread yet Very quiet which I love. Haven't had the opportunity to run in the snow yet which is why I didn't rate winter.
