After 4 years and 52K miles of combined hwy and city driving conservatively, they have plenty of tread left. However, they frequently lose traction when starting out from a stop, which is unpredictable and unsafe! I suspect over time the rubber has changed. Drywrought seems too drastic of a description. An 85K mileage rating is useless if the rubber loses it's grip over time.

Features and Benefits
An all-season touring tire, the Assurance MaxLife is built to offer year-round traction and grip in dry, wet, and light winter conditions. Goodyear has introduced various features in this tire to boost driving comfort, reduce noise levels, improve handling, and provide a longer tread life. Let’s discuss them all along with other remarkable features of the tire:
- Excellent year-round performance – The tire features TreadLife Technology that helps in achieving excellent year-round performance in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. The tread has wide circumferential grooves that reduce the risk of hydroplaning by evacuating water and slush from the footprint and ensuring solid wet weather performance. The flexible tread compound of the tire also plays an important role in contributing to the tire’s year-round performance. It keeps the tread flexible enough to establish optimum road contact in light winter weather conditions.
- Superior handling and stability – The symmetrical tread pattern of the tire is engineered to provide superior steering response and stability. The continuous center rib maintains consistent contact with the surface and allows the driver to command the vehicle with greater confidence.
- Solid durability and comforts – The reinforced internal structure of the Assurance MaxLife features polyester casing and twin steel belts. Both combined, provide solid durability and reduce the chances of deformations. Additionally, the optimized tread design and polyester casing help in absorbing the road vibrations, thus boosting the ride comfort levels.
- Noise-free rides – The variable tread pitch sequencing of this tire doesn’t let the airwaves accumulate in the footprint while the tire is in motion, thus catering to noise-free rides.
- Extended usability – This touring all-season tire is designed and engineered to wear slowly and offer a longer service life. Both, the tread durability as well as innovative tread pattern ensure uniform and more extended wear, letting the tire cover more miles.
- Backed by tread life warranty – Goodyear offers an outstanding limited manufacturer tread life warranty of 85,000 miles, assuring maximum peace to the drivers.
Goodyear has offered this tire in 15- to 20-inch rim sizes, making it compatible with many vehicles in the country. Some of its sizes include:

The Goodyear Assurance MaxLife is an affordable tire that comes with an exceptional 85,000 miles limited manufacturer tread life warranty and makes a good companion with a wide variety of vehicles in the market. The vibration absorption capability of the tire is outstanding and it even contributes to reducing fuel consumption. It even comes with a longer tread life, which is highlighted by a whopping 9.9 SimpleScore for longevity.
That being said, some customer reviews claim that the tire is more noisy than normal, which might be a point of concern for some buyers. I do not recommend these tires. I have had them on my car for two months and a bubble just appeared on the sidewall. I have not hit any potholes with the tire so I'm almost positive it was a manufacturing defect. Besides that the tires were just okay. The grip on dry pavement was adequate but on wet pavement they weren't the best. They slipped when going around curves when the roads were even slightly damp. Can't speak to winter performance or tread life because I haven't had them long enough and I plan on replacing them with a different tire anyways. Overall I'd give them a 2/5 rating.
I really like the tires so far. I would not buy them from Simple Tire. They are not authorized resellers (I did not know this when purchased). The issue came up when I filed for a rebate and Goodyear denied the claim due to that reason. That part is disappointing since I have purchased 5 sets of tires from Simple Tire. In the end, I would have received a better price from the installer if I would have just purchased through them. My tires were also lost in transit resulting in me having to reschedule my installation appointment. Simple Tire never bothered notifying me of the delay and it wasn't until I called to ensure the tires (all of them) arrived they bothered telling me they would be late. All in all, the tires seem to be great. I'll know more in the winter (Western PA) how they do. Love the tires. Will not purchase again from Simple Tire as it was certainly not simple for me or obviously from them.
