As a rancher, my trucks wear all terrain tires year around. We see 50% highway/50% off road use and haul heavy 80% of the time. Gravel roads + heavy loads, chew up every AT tire I have ever purchased. I simply needed a better tire, built for work and abuse. I ended up trying these new commercial HD All Terrains. I am currently 5k miles in and I am very impressed. I expected the road noise to be a little obnoxious, but that has not been the case. You do feel the lugs of the tires in your steering wheel and seat but much less than I expected. I also suspected the tires to be squishy for the 500 miles, (like the Coopers) but was also wrong there. It appears this is a stiffer rubber and hopefully that will translate to extended tread wear. Dry performance with 28k pounds was perfect. Wet performance is undetermined as Texas is in a bad drought. We did have sprinkles this morning and that makes Texas highways very dangerous. All the dirt and oil buildup gets wet and makes the road stupid slick. At least it use to, with other tires. Not the case so far with these shoes. Off road performance is promising. From the back 40 acres of the pasture, across the wet weather creeks and up the dirt hills, we experienced excellent grip. Tread ware and wet weather highway performance is still outstanding. However, if I can finally get more than 15k miles out of all terrain tires, I will be a happy camper. I am hoping these HD All Terrains will double that!
