Decent grip for cheap tires
Plenty of dry grip to have some spirited fun. Good control in the wet too, just be cautious (plenty of deer jumping out and testing reflexes on rainy nights) Have not driven in snow, but can imagine they are decent.

Few vehicles have been as iconic as the Golf GTI since the first Volkswagen Beetle. Did you know that the Golf was nicknamed ‘Rabbit’ in the US as it was believed that the vehicle’s association with golf as a sport would hamper sales? It has always been a highly affordable hatchback with cool looks and lots of pep, being recognized over the years as the gold standard in the hot hatch segment, offering a great mix of driving dynamics and practicality. The 2018 Volkswagen GTI receives high-quality cabin materials and boasts typical European styling. Power and engine capacity today are vastly improved over what was initially available. You will find a 2.0-liter, inline-4 turbo with 220 hp of power underneath the GTI’s hood. The smile will never disappear from your face whenever you drive this peppy turbo with a great amount of low and mid-range torque. Expect the GTI to deliver a fuel economy ranging from 24 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. One element that plays its part in comfort is the tire, and 2018 Volkswagen GTI tires on a new vehicle are likely to be Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS.

After about a month of window shopping, I bought these Nexens. I've had some more costly brands of winter tires before (on the same vehicle platform), and so far these have surpassed the others overall, in my opinion. Pretty comfy ride without too much give in corners. Grip is good on wet pavement that I've experienced. Haven't had deep snow, grabs hard packed stuff well though. Very pleased with these mid-level winter tires!
