Ford Excursion Tires

Introduced in 1999, the Excursion was Ford’s jumbo SUV that was based on the F-250 Super Duty pickup truck. This big, three-row SUV was designed as a direct competitor for the Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon. The Excursion featured V8, V10, or PowerStroke Diesel power engines, and was available in XL, XLT, or Limited trim levels. Its reception in the automotive press was tepid, receiving dubious accolades like “the biggest sport utility on the planet,” and spikes in gas prices in the early 2000s didn’t help matters with the thirsty Excursion. Most buyers thought it was just too much truck, as the Excursion never lived up to sales expectations and was discontinued in 2005. Interestingly, the Excursion has had a pretty good second life in the aftermarket, including stretch limo, armored car, and other specialty versions.
