The Zenna Argus UHP is an ultra-high-performance (UHP), all-season tire that comes with race-proven credibility and has earned titles at championships like Formula Drift Pro AM Championships, Turismo Drift Champion, and Formula Drift Canada Pro Series Competitor. The tire is engineered to offer impressive track-like performance and solid year-round traction at an affordable cost.

If you’re looking for an ultra-high-performance tire, take a look at the features and benefits, strengths and weaknesses, vehicle compatibility, and other important details in this Zenna Argus UHP tire review to make a well-informed decision.

    Features and Benefits

The Zenna Argus UHP is an ultra-high-performance tire that has a wider footprint and a low profile. It is designed to provide solid traction and better steering responsiveness at higher speeds. While UHP tires are usually optimized for performance in warmer months, when the temperature is more than 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the Argus UHP comes with enhanced capability to serve year-round in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. Let’s now explore the tire’s key features and their corresponding benefits:

    • Solid year-round traction – The Argus UHP is optimized for solid year-round performance in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. The unique tread pattern has various biting edges and elements that allow the tire to provide traction in different weather conditions on paved roads.
    • Enhanced stability and maneuvering – The tire is also optimized to offer enhanced stability and control while driving at high speeds. The tread design of the tire features solid shoulders and center ribs that ease maneuvering and boost cornering. The low profile and wider footprint also enhance the tire’s ability to steer in complete control, thus providing more confidence to the drivers to handle the vehicle at higher speeds.
    • Quieter rides and maximized comforts – Zenna has taken care of two crucial aspects, the noise levels as well as the comfort. While the tread pitch sequencing and noise-treated tread compound of the tire keep the tread noise levels very minimal, the flexible rubber compound ensures smooth rides.
    • Solid wet and dry grip – The tire maintains exceptional grip on wet and dry surfaces. The wider tread grooves evacuate water from the footprint for reduced hydroplaning resistance and better grip. The biting edges and sipes present on the tread help the tire maintain a solid grip while driving on dry surfaces.
    • Longer tread life – The Argus UHP has optimum flexibility to provide maximized comforts, but at the same time its internal structure and tread rigidity are durable enough to provide slower and longer wear. The flat profile also adds to the advantage of providing a longer tread life as the driving pressures are evenly distributed across the tread for a longer and even wear.
    • Good tread life warranty coverage – The tire is covered by a limited manufacturer tread life warranty of 40,000 miles, offering a higher value and purchase satisfaction to the buyers.

The good thing about the Zenna Argus UHP is its availability in 17- to 26-inch rim sizes, making it compatible with a larger set of sedans, coupes, convertibles, and sports cars. Some of its popular tire sizes include:

    Pros and Cons

The Zenna Argus UHP is undoubtedly a great choice for those who need ultra-high-performance tires at an affordable price point, but before you decide anything, you must know the pros and cons of this tire.

More affordable than many of its competitors. Enhanced steering responsiveness and high-speed stability. Solid traction and grip on dry and wet roads. Covered by 40,000 miles limited manufacturer tread life warranty. Various tire sizes are available for 17- to 26-inch rims. Less noisy and comfortable on paved roads.

Longevity isn’t the best in the segment. Winter weather traction and grip aren’t as great as some competitors. Not the most fuel efficient tire

SimpleTire’s view on Zenna Argus UHP tires

If you need a set of affordable ultra-high-performance all-season tires and want them to offer solid traction and grip on dry and wet roads, alongside providing better maneuverability and high-speed stability, then the Zenna Argus UHP is a great choice. Although the tire is a year-round performer, its winter weather traction and grip aren’t as great as some of its peers. The tire is covered by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty and is available in a wide variety of tire sizes for maximum compatibility with most passenger cars, sedans, coupes, performance cars, and sports cars. The tire is less noisy and offers smooth rides, however, its service life isn’t as great as its rivals.

About these for a slightly oversized 19-in mustang wheel on a Thunderbird.... Replacing Goodyear RSA, concerned it would be a rough ride , these tires did make a difference. High desert Southern california, no rain or snow as of yet. They are quiet and smooth, the other tires did ride rough and I was concerned but rubber does make a difference. Otani, Ohtsu, Aurora have been my favorites lately and I will add this to that list.

I bought this brand of tire in late November of 2019 and had mounted in Mid December. I am now in need of four new tires to pass PA Inspection. I bought them because of reviews and description, but these tires are useless after 15 months and 15K miles. DO NOT BUY !

These tire were on a used car that I recently bought. Had a decent amount of tread on them, so I thought I might be okay for while. Wrong! 2k miles and I'm replacing them, treadwall separation. Worst fucking tires ever! Fred Flintstone probably had better quality tires. Hi-Point makes some of the shittiest handguns on earth, but they're amateurs compared to this tire maker.....

Good overall tire, they do have a bit of noise but most ZR rated tires do. Winter received only three stars because I live in south Florida and don't see "winter" weather.
