There are plenty of all-season tires that offer great handling, braking, traction, steering response, and cornering, but if you really like to push the envelope with your car, then UHP tires might be the way to go. UHP tires can get pretty expensive, of course, and the Venom Power RAGNAROK One far outperforms what you might expect for a tire at that price. Handling and braking performance are right up there with the best of them, and it’s surprisingly quiet and comfortable on the highway.

The two Cons listed above are fairly minor quibbles, really. It’s not surprising that the Venom Power RAGNAROK One isn’t suitable for year-round driving and colder weather as UHP tires use a softer tread compound (sometimes almost as soft as a pencil eraser) that will stiffen up and lose traction on cold days. Tire manufacturers advise against summer/UHP tires being used when temperatures are consistently below 45 degrees Fahrenheit. As for the lack of a treadwear warranty, that’s pretty common – many summer/UHP tires do not have treadwear coverage.
