Ohtsu tires is a sub-brand of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the Japan-headquartered tire giant that owns Falken Tires. Ohtsu has been serving for more than 30 years and makes tires for passenger cars, SUVs, CUVs, light trucks, and performance vehicles. Ohtsu offers its range of tires at a very competitive price and maintains the highest standards of engineering while manufacturing them.

The Ohtsu FP7000 is another impressive touring tire which is ideal for those who spend a lot of time on the road. Like all-season tires, touring tires perform in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions, and also offer drivers improved ride comfort by reducing road noises and vibrations.

But is the FP7000 the right tire for you? Let's dive into this Ohtsu FP7000 review.

    Features and Benefits

Designed as a touring tire, the FP7000 delivers predictable steering and handling. With this tire, you see an optimized contact patch that promotes stability and grip while four straight channel grooves boost hydroplaning resistance. A staggered lug tread pattern and rubber compound work together to produce a quiet, comfortable ride. Additionally, you get built-in Tread Rotation Indicators that visually show a driver when their vehicle needs an alignment. For added peace of mind, the FP7000 is backed by a 40,000 mile limited tread life warranty from the manufacturer. Here are some of the key features and benefits of the Ohtsu FP7000:

    • Optimizes contact area: The Ohtsu FP7000 has tread blocks with wide shoulder blocks that help promote stability and reliable traction in wet conditions and traction on slippery roads.
    • Comfortable ride: Made with non-directional tread to create a comfortable, quiet ride with all-season performance and multi-rotational patterns to reduce irregular wear.
    • Reduced hydroplaning: Four circumferential grooves improve wet handling and hydroplane resistance.
    • Optimized steering response: Ohtsu's dual steel belts provide not just greater tread rigidity and structural strength but also grip.

The Ohtsu FP7000 is available in wheel sizes ranging from 15 to 18 inches, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicles, including compact cars, mid-size sedans, performance sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers.

Had these on my 2012 civic si. Loved them. Got them for my 2017 wrx. Great price. Tread wear is like 40 k plus. Great tire better than the 200 apiece stock replacement summer only tires than came with the Subaru.

These tires didn't even last a year. I got them last year around the first week of February, installed all four, did a wheel alignment and everything. By October I had to replace them, last year I barely drove, I was working from home. Would not recommend ever, if all it took to wear them out was a couple of short road trips to go camping. Complete waste of time and money.

I put 245/45r18 ohtsu tires on my Audi a6. I had Continental dws06 tires. The ohtsu tires at 65 mph cruising were 69 decimals. The Continentals on the same road at the same speed were 74 decimals. The grip, traction, and wet road feelings are virtually identical to the Contis. I can't speak to the snow yet as it hasn't snowed yet. I only have 3,000 miles so far so I can't yet speak to the treadlife but at half the price I don't frankly care. Good riding quiet tire so I'm sold.

I didn't have the car much longer after I purchased the tires but they seemed like long lasting, performed great in dry and wet surfaces.

What a great set of tires and an even better price! I'm much happier with this set of tires over a big brand name competitor that cost more than double. I'm a Simple Tire believer and customer for life! Thank you Simple Tire!
