bought these tires to get me through the winter, and they did exactly that. Not a very smooth ride, but if you're looking for a tire with great snow and ice traction these tires will provide that quality. The compound material seems to be a little soft, which leads me to believe the tries won't last through multiple seasons, but i can expect that out of snow tires.

This tire uses green technology for an environmentally-friendly tread compound that stays flexible in sub-freezing weather (remember this softer tread compound wears quickly in warmer temps and shouldn't be used when it's warmer than about 40 degrees F).
