Mastercraft Tires, a division of Cooper, is one of the most reputable names in the tire business. The brand is known for producing top-of-the-line tires that are built to "Master the Road" and provide exceptional levels of performance and longevity. The product range of Mastercraft includes a wide range of tires, from the best winter tires to high performance touring tires.

The Mastercraft Courser CXT is an all-terrain tire that is designed for use on light trucks. To provide more traction in snow and ice, it can be pinned with studs. Light truck drivers occasionally like driving their vehicles off-road to navigate mud, dirt, and other obstacles, but they must make sure their tires are capable of handling the task.

Will this all-terrain tire offer needed traction on mud, dirt, and other trails? To help you decide, here's a Mastercraft Courser CXT tire review.

    Features and Benefits

Although the name all-terrain tire might give the impression that these tires are intended for less-traveled paths, they are actually excellent tires for all types of roads. The Mastercraft Courser CXT is a versatile tire that works well on muddy, dry, rainy, and lightly snow-covered roads. It's vital to comprehend the special features of these tires before deciding to install a new set on your car.

    • Great all-terrain traction: The positioning of the large, staggered tread blocks improves the ability to grip soft, loose, and uneven ground. These drivers were in mind when Mastercraft designed the Courser CXT, which has a huge surface area that puts more rubber on the road to boost both on- and off-road grip. Moreover, the Courser CXT's broad shoulder scallops function as "mud scoops" to maintain traction in off-road situations.
    • Boosted all-season traction: Location of the tread blocks and the siping detail improves the road's ability to grip in dry, wet, and icy conditions.
    • Self-cleaning tread: Mud, snow, and rocks that get caught between the tread elements are removed by the staggered blocks and wide grooves.
    • Enhanced handling: To improve steering and driving stability, the tread's block arrangement maintains the tire in contact with the road and the terrain.
    • Increased durability: The revised top sidewall design avoids off-road sidewall damage like impact and bruising damage.
    • Comfortable drive: Because the ideal tread shape closely mimics the road surface, the tire performs more comfortably when driving. Computer optimized tread design offers a quiet drive.

I am about to buy my second set of these tires. The first set has lasted 68K miles on a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, and still have some life left. There is very little road noise from these tires given the mildly aggressive tread pattern.

I have had incredible luck with these tires. I have ran all the high dollar tires ans like these better than all the rest. I have them on my 1996 F250 and my 2022 F350 king ranch. They have a tiny bit of road noise but nothing compared to a true MT. I actually had 2 of these that took ZERO weight to balance!!!!! These are the first tires I have ever owned that did that. My seats don't vibrate at all. Not even a little ay any speed. I will co tinue buying these in the future. They look as good as they ride. Mastercraft did a great job with these.

I love these tires. The tread is burly and handles great in dirt and mud, I haven't had a chance to try them in snow and ice yet but will report. I only have about 2k on them now but the handle great at speed- no lug drift and are quiet for what the are which is an aggressive all terrain.

I have these in 295/70-18 on a Ram 2500. I got them just before a few weeks of heavy snow and I'm glad I did, the winter traction is fantastic. I've had them in sloppy mud also with not so much as a thought about getting stuck. On dry pavement they ride quiet and comfortable. Zero change in road noise over the factory Firestone AT's. After a few thousand miles I've noticed no tread wear. This is an excellent tire and they look great too!

255/85r16- 2020 Tacoma DCSB M/T with 3"/2" readylift with no rub. These tires are exactly what I thought they'd be after doing my research. Mastercraft is owned by Cooper tires so you know there's creditability there. I used tirepsi.com to figure out the correct pressure switching to a different tire size. I do weekend off-road trips to include all types of terrain and I have been pleased with the results. When off-roading I run lower pressures for a better ride and traction. I was just in the mountains with 6"+ snow and had no issues getting around in 4wd. At highway speeds there is some humming but I've definitely heard worse. I've been through a couple off-roading courses running on KM3s and S/T Maxx's and I'd say these tires are comparable at a cheaper price. I also tow a 3500lb camper with them and have no complaints with that as well. Only have approx 5000 miles on them so I can't say anything about wear yet other than they seem to be doing fine.

Quite road noise for how aggressive they are and they seem to wear very nicely. They grip well in all road and off road conditions.

Great on road manners dry and wet pavement. Haven't had any snow and not much ice, so I can't say for winter roads, but with the amount of siping they should be decent. Not missing any traction offroad after having Toyo MTs. Very very quiet compared to the Toyos too. The pictures don't do this tire justice, they are a lot beefier in person, and that's not a bad thing! If you're looking for an affordable, aggressive tire with good on road manners, look no further. Anyone wondering, truck is a 2017 Ford F250, and I have about 2000 miles on these tires
