When it comes to affordable all-season tires for sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers, it’s a pretty crowded field with a lot of options. No question that there are some great tires out there at a lower price point, alongside some not-so-great ones. Still, your expectations should be the same: low noise, forgiving ride quality, long, even wear, dependable traction on wet or dry pavement, predictable handling, and good road manners.

Let’s introduce the Lionhart LH-501. The Lionhart LH-501 is an all-season tire that’s beyond competent – it delivers surprising quality, value, and performance at a surprisingly low price. So what are the details of this tire that make it a great value in an all-season tire? Let’s get in for a closer look with this Lionhart LH-501 review.

    Features and Benefits

Here’s what you can expect with the Lionhart LH-501:

    • Deep, wide circumferential grooves channel water away from the tire’s contact patch for enhanced wet-weather traction and to avoid hydroplaning
    • Solid center rib boosts on-center stability and road manners at highway speed as well as improving steering response
    • Specialized rubber compound is designed for traction and long tread life
    • Steel belted radial construction for durability
    • M&S rated for mud/snow traction
    • Backed by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
    • Lateral grooves work with circumferential grooves to boost wet-weather traction

    Pros and Cons

So, is this the right tire for your budget and ride? Let’s take a look at the tire’s strengths:

    PROS:

    • Stable and predictable handling for confidence, ease of control
    • Surprising balance of great ride quality and low noise for such an affordable tire
    • Good wet-weather traction
    • M&S rated
    • Backed by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty

Unfortunately, no tire is perfect and that’s the case for the LH-501:

    CONS:

    • Not good in moderate to heavy snow
    • Braking distances are a little long
    • Not the most fuel efficient tire

SimpleTire’s view on Lionhart LH-501 tires

Sometimes we run across an affordable all-season tire that comes as a nice surprise in terms of value and performance, and the Lionhart LH-501 is a perfect example. Ride quality and noise levels rival tires that cost far more, and the Lionhart LH-501’s 40,000 mile limited warranty coverage is best-in-class at that price. The M&S rating is also a bit of a surprise, although most M&S rated tires don’t do well when there’s more than a couple of inches of snow on the ground and the road. All in all, we think that if you’re on a budget and if you perform the right tire maintenance and driving habits, the Lionhart LH-501 is a tire that will meet your needs and then some.
