Dunlop Tires was founded in 1890 by pneumatic trailblazer John Boyd Dunlop in Dublin, Ireland, and is managed by different tire brands around the world, such as Goodyear, Continental, and Sumitomo. Popular for offering performance tires, Dunlop uses its racing experience and blends it with state-of-the-art technology to deliver passenger and light truck tires designed for high performance and superior handling and comfort.

The Dunlop Sport Maxx RT is an ultra-high-performance racing tire designed for use on sedans and offers racing-inspired grip with enhanced braking performance. In this Dunlop Sport Maxx RT review, we will take a look at some of the features and benefits of the tire, its pros and cons, and SimpleTire’s views on the tire.

    Features and Benefits

Racing tires are designed to give drivers strong traction and performance on the drag strip, race, street, or dirt track. These tires are engineered to offer quicker acceleration, responsive steering, and improved braking to shave precious seconds off of their lap times. These tires are not most suited for daily driving.

Designed using Dunlip’s Racing Technology, the tire is designed with a tread more suited for warmer weather conditions and delivers great overall performance. The tires are designed to have lower rolling resistance, feature a low-weight construction, and have massive outer shoulders for an overall superior performance. Here are some noteworthy features and benefits of the tire.

    • Improved steering responsiveness: The adaptive tread compound helps improve racing grip and braking performance.
    • Enhanced cornering stability: The massive outer shoulder blocks help promote increased tread stability and offer consistent handling when cornering.
    • Optimized handling: The power braking blocks help enhance stopping power for shorter braking distances at higher speeds.
    • Lower rolling resistance: The low-weight construction of the tire helps lower rolling resistance for improved performance and better fuel efficiency.

The Dunlop Sport Maxx RT is available in different tire sizes ranging from 17 to 19 inches.

Great dry weather handling as well as wet weather handling. These tires are not sticky but they aren't too slippery either, a fine compromise between performance and comfort with deep tread design which sports a couple of water channels to keep from hydroplaning and veering into an unintended trajectory. Scrubbing is minimal when cold on most surfaces. Sidewalls are not stiff, not soft, just right for commuter/performance package... road noise is prevalent but it's not loud enough to deter from purchasing again. I have have had these tires for over a month and they are holding up quite well and feel like they will last a few more summer seasons. I recommend the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT series for the price and quality.
