    Features and Benefits

Zigzag grooves in the center do not just provide great handling performance but also enable the brakes to stop quickly. They also create strong snow pillars for generating confident grip on snow. A wider footprint is made possible thanks to the new tread design, leading to better traction on ice and longer tread life. As the standout feature of this tire, the new tread design deserves a high Dunlop Grandtrek SJ6 rating. Below are the SJ6’s features and benefits in some detail:

    • Great dry traction: A ply line and optimized mold shape ensure a rubber contact patch for consistent dry traction at highway speeds.

    • Long tread life: A smart tread pattern, in combination with high tread depth, fends off uneven tread wear to provide long tread life, resulting in a phenomenal average longevity SimpleScore of 9.9.
    • Great performance: Zigzag grooves, a high tread depth, and a symmetrical tread design are responsible for great performance as per an average handling SimpleScore of 7.6.
    • Quiet ride: The tread design and optimized groove distribution ensure a quiet ride.
    • Looks great: A new sidewall makes the Grandtrek SJ6 look attractive.

    Pros and Cons

SimpleTire’s view on Dunlop Grandtrek SJ6 tires

The Dunlop Grandtrek SJ6, the studless winter tire, has been specifically designed for sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks. Strong traction on ice and snow is a major feature, and the tire has been labeled with the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake mark for satisfying the industry's stringent snow servicing criteria. While an even contact patch is made possible by a ply line and optimized mold form, a unique glass fiber-reinforced tread provides exceptional ice traction. During the Dunlop Grandtrek SJ6 tire review, we found the tire’s zigzag grooves generate tremendous braking performance and make drivers feel confident during handling, with the wide footprint being helpful as well. Dunlop is a brand under Goodyear and the properties of high-quality rubber are visible here.

My mechanic suggests I should contact Dunlop Tires to ask for refund for the tires which I did. So far no adjustment has been made or discount issued for the tires. Meanwhile the tires make loud noise when driving.
