The Dextero DHT2 is an all-season tire that’s built and designed to deliver reliable performance in dry and wet conditions. For a more comfortable driving experience, the manufacturer has also utilized technologies and features that ensure reduced vibration and noise levels. The tire is suitable for use on CUVs and SUVs and offers value to its customers.
If you’re looking for a reliable, affordable, and year-round performing tire, then this Dextero DHT2 review will help you make an informed decision. So, read on to check out our verdict based on our advanced tire rating system SimpleScore, and get insights on the tire’s features, vehicle compatibility, pros and cons, and more.
Features and Benefits
The purpose of an all-season tire is to perform in dry, wet, and light snow conditions, and likewise, Dextero has designed the DHT2. Simply put, you won’t have to take the pain of swapping tires with the change in season. Here are the features and benefits that award a decent Dexter DHT2 rating:
- Confident traction and grip – The tire sports an all-season tread compound and an optimized pattern that enhances traction and grip year-round. The four circumferential grooves present on the tread force water out of the footprint for increased hydroplaning resistance, while the tread block arrangement is such that it offers extra traction and grip.
- Strong and durable construction – The DHT2 features strong and durable radial construction that can withstand driving pressures. Likewise, the inner structure of the tire sports strengthened steel belts and reinforced carcass for additional strength.
- Reduced tread noise levels – The tread pitch sequencing and compound, both are engineered to reduce the noise levels to offer quieter rides. Likewise, the tire also absorbs vibrations for a pleasant driving experience.
- Enhanced stability and handling – The footprint and compound are both designed and optimized to boost stability and offer responsive handling. The three ribs at the center help in seamless steering response and in-time lane changes.
- Improved cornering performance – The solid shoulder pattern featuring lateral grooves improves the cornering performance of the tire.
The Dextero DHT2 is available in 15- to 18-inch rim sizes, and some of the popular tire sizes on offer include:
Pros and Cons
Feature-wise, the DHT2 seems to be good, but in some areas, it is strong, while in some it isn’t as great as its competition. So, let’s talk about them now – the pros and cons!
PROS:
- More affordable than its competitors.
- Quicker handling response in dry and wet conditions.
- Good traction performance on dry and wet roads.
- Ride comforts are good and tread noise levels remain in control.
CONS:
- Doesn’t come with a limited manufacturer tread life warranty.
- Very limited size options are offered that impact vehicle compatibility.
- Snow performance isn’t on the positive side.
- Should not be used in moderate to severe winter conditions as it is not a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake-certified tire.
- Isn’t as great as its rivals in longevity.
SimpleTire’s view on Dextero DHT2 tires
The Dextero DHT2 is a value-offering all-season tire that’s ideal for drivers who don’t want to spend much but want a set of tires that can serve them year-round. The tire offers quicker handling response in dry and wet conditions and secures a higher 8.1/10 SimpleScore rating, it also doesn’t disappoint on the traction part and secures a satisfactory 7.7/10 SimpleScore rating in this area. However, we felt that the tire is better when it comes to driving on dry and wet roads and isn’t as great as some of its competitors on light snowy conditions. Likewise, in longevity, it scores a 7.2/10 SimpleScore, which isn’t as good as what some of its peers score. You can applaud the tire for its ride comfort and controlled tread noise levels, which make driving more pleasing.
If you have a ride that sports 15-, 16-, or 18-inch rims, then you might consider it for use on your drive, otherwise, there could be compatibility issues. If you’re particularly conscious about tread life warranty, then this tire won’t offer you the same. If you live in a region where roads are layered with thick layers of snow or ice, or the temperature often remains below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, then this tire should be your pick for the very reason it isn’t Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for use in moderate to severe winter use.
The Dextero DHT2 can be pitted against the following tires on the market:
- Westlake SU318
- Prinx HiCountry HT2
- Goodride Cross Legend SU320
- Summit Trail Climber SUV2
- BlackHawk Agility SUV
- Iris Aures
- Pantera Touring CUV A/S
Vehicles the Dextero DHT2 is a good replacement tire for
Suitable for use on CUVs and SUVs, the Dextero DHT2 is a good replacement choice for vehicles like the Ford Expedition, GMC Sierra 1500, Toyota Sequoia, and RAM 1500.

Fast delivery, great tires
If you need a no frills tire at a good price, this is the tire for you
These Tires are High Pressure Light Truck Tires, rated @ 10ply load range E. Perfect for Service Trucks, that are constantly carrying a lot of weight (I keep tires inflated @ Front: 65psi. Rear: 75psi). I love the tread design, and I cannot rate wet, or winter driving, as I live in the Desert, in Southern California! These Tires are Not recommended for 1/2 ton trucks, that do not carry a constant heavy load.
