Thunderers (The truth)

I've purchased two sets of Thunderers for my Tacoma. Here's the truth. They look AWESOME! Ends there. They are extremely loud possibly as loud as the name suggests. The ride is equally as bad. They wear very easily and they are absolutely the worst tire for snow. Trust me I live in northern Maine. Looking for a cheap aggressive looking tire and don't drive a lot, this tire may be right for you.

Pricey, but for a reason...

Have had no slipping whatsoever in wet and partially snowy conditions as of yet. Old tires that were replaced would have me nervous driving in the rain, whereas I have no concern with these. Had to buy the E-Load because the 285/65r18 SL were NOT 3-Peak rated (mountain symbol). If you want the 3-Peak rating in this size, you must go with E-Load despite what simple tire or the manufactures website says (talked to Sumitomo/Falken manufacturer on this as well). E-Load is heavy and likely overkill for what I do, but winter performance and tread depth is very important to me. Also, I have the peace of mind that the tires will be extremely durable if I run anything over. Not too much road noise as of now, but only have a few thousand miles on them.

Terrible tread life / Mileage

Tires were out of life around 30k miles on my 3rd gen Tacoma (stock tires). Though I liked that they were silent and performed great in rain and snow in the first 2/3rds of lifespan.
