For operators of commercial fleets such as service vans, route vans and light/medium trucks used for hauling or P&D work, the priorities are pretty clear: year-round traction, durability for lots of stop-and-start driving, enhanced load rating, long wear and driver comfort. Commercial operators know that down time from a tire failure means lost money, missed deadlines, missed deliveries, or possibly even worse. That’s why dependable commercial tires like the Continental VanContact series are so important.

The Continental VanContact series brings a lot to the table when it comes to commercial tires. Every Continental VanContact tire is the result of Continental’s decades of experience in design and manufacturing, with top-notch German engineering, premium materials and advanced designs. They’re heavy-duty commercial tires that you can depend on to get the job done – tires that are ready to work as hard as you, your company and your drivers. Apart from the above, each of the tires in this series is backed by the Continental Total Confidence Plan that includes a customer satisfaction trial, flat tire roadside assistance, a limited warranty, and more.

Continental VanContact A/S Ultra

The VanContact A/S Ultra is designed as an all-weather tire, delivering year-round grip with its tread pattern that features angled grooves, circumferential grooves and a dense network of sipes that multiply the tread’s surface area and traction with hundreds of hair-thin slits to chew through snow, slush and standing water. It features low rolling resistance to save on fuel costs, thanks to a tread compound that’s designed with functionalized polymers to stay flexible for traction in subfreezing weather. Intelligent snowcatchers and 3D sipes work as a system to enhance winter traction, earning the Continental VanContact A/S Ultra 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake certification for severe winter service. Thicker tread blocks at the shoulder, a reinforced sidewall design and built-in rim guards give the VanContact A/S Ultra an improved load rating while protecting the wheel and sidewall against curb scuffs and abrasions. The tread pitch of the VanContact A/S Ultra is computer-tuned for low noise, enabling it to neutralize certain frequencies and overtones for a muted ride and help reduce driver fatigue. To make buyers feel confident, this tire features a 10-ply rating and a limited manufacturer treadwear warranty of 60,000 miles.

Continental Vancontact A/S

The VanContact A/S from Continental is designed for year-round performance and dependability, with a tough 6 ply rated casing and a rubber compound that’s optimized for long life as well as wet-weather grip. The tread pattern and rubber formulation of the Continental VanContact A/S deliver low rolling resistance for improved fuel economy and long tread life, with a reinforced design that increases the load capacity of the VanContact A/S. Like the VanContact A/S Ultra, this all-season tire features a robust sidewall that gives it great load handling and roadability on the highway, and its tread design helps keep road noise to a minimum while providing a comfortable, controlled ride for the driver and passengers. The VanContact A/S has been specifically designed to fit European model commercial vans.

Continental Vanco 4 Season

Continental designed the Vanco 4 Season for true year-round performance, durability and comfort. The casing and tread on this highway tire are designed for reduced rolling resistance, helping to save on fuel bills and ensuring that the tire is compatible with electric vehicles. Three wide zigzag circumferential grooves easily route water away from the tire’s contact patch to resist hydroplaning on wet roads, and its network of sipes and grooves ensures improved traction in snow and slush. Pattern noise is kept to a minimum with the Vanco 4 Season’s all-season tread design, and its shoulder and enhanced contact patch mean predictable cornering ability and good overall handling properties. The reinforced design of the Continental Vanco 4 Season makes it a great choice for heavier vans and service trucks, as well as giving it an enhanced load rating for towing or hauling heavy loads.

Other VanContact lines

In addition to the above tires, the Continental VanContact family of tires also includes the:

  • Continental VanContact Winter: Commercial fleets can’t stop operating just because of winter weather, and the VanContact Winter is ready with a specialized winter tread compound that stays flexible in subfreezing weather and an aggressive winter tread with a dense network of sipes for traction in snow, ice and slush. The VanContact Winter has the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake rating for severe winter service. Like all winter tires, the tread compound of the VanContact Winter will wear quickly in warmer weather; this tire should not be used if temperatures are above 40-45 degrees F.
