Bought these a few years ago for my Karmann Ghia, and I truly cannot be more satisfied. They are the correct size for vintage VW's (155 not 165) and absolutely fit the looks. They're inexpensive and ride superb for these old cars, any radial tire made today is going to be better than what these cars had on them in the past. Tires in these applications on old VW's are not stressed at all and these are perfectly matched! 100% highly recommend...screw coker, don't listen to them, you don't need 'em just get these!

I love these tires. Installed a set on a 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood. The thread design is modern, high performance summer, and the whitewall is wide enough. They ride very smooth and road noise is zero. Way better and cheaper than Cokers. Best choice for older cars needing whitewalls.

Great buying experience. Tires for my old beetle have become very hard to find and cost over $100 each when special ordered. I was getting desperate with no spare and 4 balding damaged and plugged tires when I found simpletire. They had four tires that would fit and my only problem was deciding which to buy.Because beetles run with tires at low pressure to increase the footprint for better handling; they require a strong stiff sidewall to avoid cracking. I would like to have had some advice on this but when I called they were unable to advise me since they deal with so many brands and suppliers. After some research on line I finally chose the Galaxy R1 from Vitour due to their versatile profile and great price at just over $50 each and FREE SHIPPING! They arrived in 2 days at my postal service where I picked them up and went to a local tire service to have them mounted and balanced. The charge was a whopping $10 each! I am now riding on safe new rubber and have my best old tire as a spare all for less than the price of 2new tires special ordered from the place that used to stock them ( big O). So far so good and I see no signs of stress on the sidewalls or tread separation that have been problems when forced to buy used tires in the past.

My first complaint was I thought I was buying them through Walmart because that's where I had them shipped and didn't realize I was being charged $20 a tire for shipment I should have realized then that these are not Walmart tires because they don't charge for shipping when I was notified by Ups that tires have arrived at Walmart so I went to Walmart to have them put them on they inform me that they have no order record in their system so I did have to get a manager after about an hour and a half Walmart did put them on okay now my biggest disappointment is my first car wash I noticed right off the bat the white walls tires were scratched and already the white walls were coming off around the edges I use the scrub brush with some industrial soap and water to see if I could clean the surface of the white wall without much results so I assume the white walls is just a surface white wall and doesn't go beyond the surface I was excited to finally find white wall tires I am 72 years old and remember when white wall tires were popular an a little cleanser and a brush would whiten them bright and white so I am excited that I do have white walls I AM disappointed that it doesn't look like they're going to last the normal wear and tear sincerely.
