Toyo is a globally trusted Japanese tire brand that makes dependable, premium, and long-lasting tires for various categories. This sophisticated brand has been backed by advanced technology since its arrival in 1966. Innovation, performance, quality, and great customer service are the cornerstones of the brand’s success in America.
Among Toyo’s products, the Celsius CUV is an all-weather tire which provides great traction on dry, wet, and snow-covered roads. Drivers of CUVs and luxury SUVs who use this tire will also benefit from a healthy limited manufacturer warranty. During the course of this Toyo Celsius CUV review, we realized that it truly offers a lot of features for its price. However, the only way to find out is to read this review till the end.
Features and Benefits
Few tires provide year-round versatility and winter traction as comprehensively as the Toyo Celsius CUV. We were impressed by the variable sipe density during our Toyo Celsius CUV tire review, as it ensures a higher sipe density on the inside tread for snow and ice and a lower sipe density for traction and stability on dry and wet roads. This is a great tire for individuals who have to drive their vehicles in dynamic weather conditions. A look at the features and benefits below would definitely help make a decision:
- Efficient braking on snow- Multi-wave sipes enhance braking, and allow the vehicle to stop 31 feet shorter than a regular all-season tire on snow covered roads.
- Great traction and handling- The special tread pattern is meant to deliver great traction and handling as well as strong performance on wet, icy, snowy, and dry roads. Grooves within the tread remove ice, snow, and slush quickly for additional traction.
- Minimal irregular wear- Multi-wave sipes reduce irregular wear for a smooth and quiet ride.
- Strong warranty- The Celsius CUV is backed by a 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, which means drivers should expect the tire to last at least six years if they drive 10,000 miles per year (assuming proper use, maintenance, and rotation are followed).
- Good fuel efficiency- These tires are fully capable of providing great efficiency, making them ideal for several CUVs.
Pros and Cons
There’s no need to store extra winter tires since these are suitable for use throughout the year. Unlike all-season tires, all-weather tires work well in moderate to severe winter conditions, displaying the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol. Use the following pros and cons to anticipate how well it can meet the needs of your vehicle:
PROS:
- Brakes quickly on snowy roads
- Backed by a 60,000 mile limited treadwear warranty
- Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for severe snow
- Quiet and comfortable ride
- Great handling throughout the year
CONS:
- Aquaplaning resistance is not particularly good
- Not the best on rough roads
- Some drivers have reported these tires wear quicker than expected
SimpleTire’s view on Toyo Celsius CUV tires
The Toyo Celsius CUV is a genuine all-weather tire that was created for drivers who require extra winter performance during sporadic snowfalls and chilly weather, but do not want to get involved with purchasing, installing, and storing winter tires. Its tread design offers better traction in ice and snow as compared to a conventional all-season tire. Its tread life is longer than a winter tire, allowing the Celsius CUV to fill the space between a winter and an all-season tire. We gave it a high Toyo Celsius CUV rating not just for wet and snowy conditions but also for dry weather due to its optimized tread angle. Multiple-fold traction is available due to the dual nature of treads. As this is an asymmetric tread pattern, the grip remains high without compromising performance. Above all, the tire is backed by a 60,000 mile limited manufacturer warranty, giving buyers the confidence to own them for low, moderate, or high usage.

The tires came super quick and look great! Definitely going to use simple tire in the future to find what I want.
Great product, at a great price!!
Worst tires I've ever owned and I've had many many vehicles. These lasted barely 20k miles on MB GL 320. Started cupping even tho aligned and rotated by MB dealership. Will not buy any Toyo tires again
These are the worst tires I've owned. Wore out very quickly and were terrible on snow and ice and became very noisy
I love the Toyo Celsius on my Subaru Forester. I'm a retail merchandiser, so my job requires lots of driving in all kinds of weather. Doesn't matter if roads are Wet or Dry handling is perfect. We had a 7" snowstorm (I'm in the Northeastern US) and I had no issues getting around. The only issue I've had is on metal grate bridges, doesn't matter if they are wet or dry even with AWD my car slides around on them so I definitely have to go slow or choose a route without metal grate bridges. Great comfort on the ride, they are a tiny bit noisy but it's not a major noise. I definitely will be getting these again when I need tires.
This is my second set of Toyo Celsius CUV tires. Had them on my 2016 Forester and now on my 2020 Ascent. I live in upstate NY and they have been fabulous during every season. I would definitely recommend them.
I have driven on these tire for 2000 miles in NE winter weather. The tires ride very nice with little to no noise. The dry handling is a little sloppy due to its soft sidewall. Overall grip is good in wet and dry conditions. The snow traction is OK. They'er not a Blizzak but, not bad. Riding in Icy conditions, they grip rather well. They are a definitely an upgrade from All-season performance tires. On a performance SUV I would reccomend them.
Aside from Pirelli, these are the best snow tires I've had. I had Blizzaks ready to put on at my import shop, guy told me for the same price he could get Toyo Celsius instead, they came highly recommended, and they have not disappointed. We just got about 16" of snow in Fargo, it handled it well, as well as anything out there. They are on my 2095 Acura MDX, which is Awd, not 4wd. Not a real difference truly, save some mog uajngand awd. Buy them, they are good. So much tread. I hope they last through the Inner.
