  • Thunderer tires are specially engineered and designed for North America. It must be mentioned here that Deestone is the parent company for Thunderer. Deestone has been known for its expertise on heavy duty industrial tires since the 1970’s.

Getting dirty isn’t always a bad thing, especially when you own a Jeep, SUV, or light truck that can navigate muddy terrains like trails. Fortunately, Thunderer offer you a set of mud-terrain tires known as Trac Grip M/T R408 to cross the dirty roads in an efficient manner, whether for utility or for fun. To correctly understand the capabilities of this tire, be sure to read the Thunderer Trac Grip M/T R408 review to the end.

    Features and Benefits

Jeeps, SUVs, and light trucks are the types of vehicles best suited for Thunderer Trac Grip M/T R408 tires. High-void treads in these tires can continuously eject huge amounts of debris and mud for superior traction. As these tires support heavy vehicles, they are built with a special tread formulation that ensures a high ply rating for extra strength and durability. Keeping in mind the main purpose of traction, the engineers at Thunderer have given these tires a blend of open and stepped tread blocks for maximum traction and performance in dirt, mud, rocks, and in other off-road areas. You may choose a black or a white letter sidewall as per what appeals to you more.

    Pros and Cons

Other than the below mentioned pros and cons, what makes the Thunderer Trac Grip M/T R408 rating high is the availability of a Free Replacement Limited Protection Policy from the manufacturer.

    Pros

    • Highly durable
    • Provide strength to cross difficult terrains
    • Aggressive tread pattern easily removes mud and debris to maximize traction
    • Fits most popular SUVs and trucks
    • High load-carrying capacity

    Cons

    • Not very comfortable on highways
    • Vibrations may creep in

SimpleTire’s view on Thunderer Trac Grip M/T R408 tires

SimpleTire found the Thunderer Trac Grip M/T to be a tire with supreme grip on muddy and similar terrains, offering features such as open and stepped tread blocks for enhancing traction. They are suitable for providing wet traction and for preventing aquaplaning. Compared to the Falken Wildpeak MT01 and Hankook Dynapro MT2 RT05, these are several times cheaper. During the Thunderer Trac Grip M/T tire review, we found that these exhibit very less noise when the degree to which they travel is taken into account. Similarly, the ride is also way smoother than what it looks like from the outside. What’s more, the aggressive tread pattern here perfectly suits the profiles of the vehicles it is meant for.

Have had 2 sets so far and bout to buy a 3rd the best tire I have found for the money, I got 35,000 out of the first set just 30,000 out of the second but I didn't rotate like I was suppose too this time, handles very well in snow and mud, and they clean out very good & very quiet for a mud tire.

The tires are priced well. Handle well and wear well. The Highway noise on these are LOUD! Great Offroad tire. So if you do any amount of highway driving look elsewhere. I purchased four of these but then hit a big bump causing a busted shock and breaking the belts in the Thunderer. Liked em enough to buy two more

I bought these last month in 285/70/17 had them mounted and balanced and they ride like crap, they are so bad the entire truck shakes and is not safe to drive, I then went 3 days later to another tire shop to have them checked and rebalanced and the same thing anything over 55 and its horrible. I put the tires on a 2013 Silverado single cab short bed that drove perfectly with thee previous worn out toyo's. I took the tires off my sons Silverado 285/75/20 Kanati Mud Hogs and placed on the truck and it is back to a smooth ride again. Both tire shops agreed these tires are junk so the only thing left is to have a very expensive bone fire. I don't mind some vibrations because they are Mud tires but to make the whole truck shake so bad you cant even hold a cup of coffee is ridiculous. What a waste of money and time.

These tires are amazing. They're still new, but the ride is great, the noise is negligible. I was worried getting mud tires would be annoying, but they are just great tires. I only have two on the rear BTW. Went offroading through some deep mud and they stuck to the muck like dry pavement. These are my only tires of choice now for my truck.

I've put over 5000 miles on these tire's, and I'm very satisfied with them. I've driven on wet roads, icy snow covered roads, mud and dry road's and they've handled very well in all situations. Highly recommend these tire's I will be purchasing them again for another truck I own and this truck again when I need them.
