  • Sailun Tires is a member of the Chinese company Mesnac, and entered the tire industry in 2001. The company focuses on developing economical products with adequate performance, a long tread life, and high mileage. Sailun offers a range of tires in different categories, such as all-season, all-terrain, winter, and highway.

The Sailun ERange EV is an all-season tire that’s designed for use on electric and hybrid passenger vehicles. The tire is designed to deliver a reliable and consistent performance. In this Sailun ERange EV review, we will take a look at some of the features and benefits of the tire, its pros and cons, and SimpleTire’s views on the tire.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are designed to offer excellent performance throughout the year in dry, wet, or light winter weather conditions. These tires are durable and generally come with a limited manufacturer tread life warranty, making them a popular choice among drivers looking for a single set of tires to last them a while.

Sailun ERange EV is an electric all-season tire and utilizes Sailun’s Ecopoint3 liquid phase mixing technology for enhanced performance, tread life, and reduced rolling resistance. Here are some noteworthy features and benefits of the tire.

    • Enhanced grip and traction: The unique liquid phase mixing and EcoPoint3 technology ensure a long-lasting tread life with enhanced grip and traction.
    • Optimized performance: The advanced tread patterns and specially formulated rubber compounds are designed to handle instant torque and to deliver dynamic performance.
    • Increased load-carrying capacity: Reinforced sidewall increased load-carrying capacity to compensate for battery weight.
    • Comfortable ride: The SilentTread technology and a variable pitch sequence ensure a quieter, more comfortable ride.

The ERange EV is available in a variety of tire sizes ranging from 15 to 22 inches, and is backed by a 45,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty.

    Pros and Cons

Now that we know more about the features and benefits of the tire, let’s also take a look at some of the pros and cons of the tire.

    PROS:

    • Consistent, year-round traction and performance for EVs
    • Increased load-carrying capacity for balancing the extra weight of the car battery.
    • Offers a quiet and comfortable ride.
    • Backed by a 45,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty.

Also, consider these cons before making a final decision.

    CONS:

    • Should not be used in moderate to heavy winter weather conditions.
    • Designed specifically to be used on electric vehicles.

SimpleTire’s view on Sailun ERange EV tires

If you are looking for a set of all-season tires for your electric vehicle, the Sailun ERange EV might be a good fit for you. The tire is optimized for performance and will deliver reliable and consistent handling, longevity, and traction for your tire. Moreover, the 45,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty adds to the value of this affordable tire.

Also, consider the Goodyear ElectricDrive GT if you want a tire from a more recognized brand. However, the Sailun ERange EV offers similar performance in handling, and better performance in longevity (8.5 v 8) and traction (7.9 v 7.8) at a lower price.

Vehicles the Sailun ERange EV is a good replacement tire for

As Sailun ERange EV is available in a variety of tire sizes, it can be used as a good replacement tire for electric vehicles such as 2020 Tesla Model 3, Nissan Leaf, 2019 Kia Soul EV, and more.

Bought these tires for 2020 tesla MYLR. The tire noise inside the cabin was approximately at same level as compared to my stock Michelin AS 4 (68db with Sailun Vs 67db with Michelin when new). They work perfectly in dry and wet conditions. I drove then in light snow and drive was great with good grip on the road. I drove approximately 6000 miles on these, mostly on the highway, i see 1/32 tread wear, Plenty of life left on these. Overall a good and very economical choice without compromising safety, and ride quality. Satisfied with my purchase and would buy these again.
