  • Radar Renegade X

The Radar Renegade X is a durable, tough-as-nails tire that’s designed for extreme terrain and rough conditions. Radar partnered with Italian automotive design house GFG Style to produce a tire that’s as stylish and good-looking as it is tough, for looks that are a perfect fit for a wide range of trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs.

If you go off-road and regularly traverse rocks, mud, sand, gravel and obstacles, you know how important tough tires are in that equation. Radar didn’t miss any details when they designed the Renegade X – this is a tire that’ll get the job done and will safely get you there and back again.

But what is it that makes the tire such a great option? Let’s take a closer look with this Radar Renegade X review:

    Features and Benefits

Mud-terrain tires have a number of very specific design features that you need when you’re offroad in the rough stuff.

    • Damage resistant tread compound is designed for rock crawling and rough terrain
    • Aggressive tread pattern with high void ratio for good self-cleaning of mud and debris
    • Mud-rescue shoulder design enhances traction to get out of deep ruts
    • Stone ejectors and serrations built into tread grooves to help protect the casing against rocks, debris, punctures
    • High-turnup sidewall and built-in rim flange to protect the tire and wheel from cuts, chips, and abrasions
    • Wraparound “stealth” lugs at shoulder extend down onto sidewall for lateral traction
    • Tie bars in tread resist tread squirm for highway use
    • Tread pitch is computer tuned to keep road noise down
    • Can be used aired-down for rock crawling
    • Tread depth up to 21/32”

    PROS

    • Looks great on a variety of trucks
    • Delivers traction and control in the most extreme conditions
    • Built for durability and long wear

    CONS

    • Noisy on the highway
    • Better off-road than on pavement
    • Not backed by a limited manufacturer tread life warranty

SimpleTire’s view on Radar Renegade X tires

    Radar Renegade X

If you’re looking for an all-terrain tire that’s a good choice for everyday use and daily drivers, the Radar Renegade X is probably not the tire you need. If you’re looking for a tire that’ll take you through the deepest, soupiest mud, along with sand, gravel, loose dirt, and obstacles, the Renegade X is definitely a tire you should consider.

With its tough, puncture-resistant tread formulation, reinforced sidewall, and robust construction, it’s ready for the roughest terrain you can take on. The aggressive tread pattern digs in to get you through nasty mud or sand, and the built-in stone ejectors easily shed rocks and debris so there’s always a clear section of tire to dig in. You can deflate the Radar Renegade X so that it conforms to rocks and irregular contours for rock crawling, and the built-in tie bars at the base of the tread add stability and reduce lateral tread squirm.

Let’s just put it simply and say that the Radar Renegade X is tough, resilient and dependable in the roughest, most extreme conditions. If that’s what you’re after in a tire, you won’t regret going with the Renegade X from Radar.

Vehicles the Radar Renegade X is a good replacement tire for

Mud terrain tires are used on vehicles that are meant for off-road driving, which typically means larger trucks and SUVs. If you own a Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Ford Bronco Badlands, GMC Yukon, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Nissan Pathfinder, RAM 1500, or Toyota Tundra and want to go off-road, then this is a tire you need to consider.
