  • Radar Renegade R/T+

Radar is nested under the flagship brand of Omni United, and are known for delivering top-quality tires at an affordable price. Manufacturing multiple tire types ranging from all-season, performance, and touring tires for passenger cars and light trucks/SUVs the tires are made with cutting-edge technology and design.

An all-terrain tire allows you to conquer uneven roads with ease as they provide the right balance of on- and off-road performance and durability. Fortunately, the Radar Renegade R/T+ delivers solid performance in wear, winter, and wet weather conditions and is a good tire for Jeeps, SUVs, and light trucks. Let’s take a look at this Radar Renegade R/T+ review to understand if this tire is what you need.

    Features and Benefits

Durability and enhanced vehicle handling go hand in hand with the Renegade R/T+ as it comes equipped with wide computerized tread blocks and wide grooves that help deliver reduced noise and longer tread wear. Let’s take a look at the Radar Renegade R/T+ tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:

    • Enhanced traction: Computer-optimized rugged tread design gives off-road enthusiasts maximized sidewall traction and puncture resistance.
    • Aggressive performance for all terrains: The increased numbers of biting edges combined with aggressive tread blocks delivers performance on all types of terrain.
    • Reduced hydroplaning: Wide circumferential grooves and curved inside tread blocks help flush water away from the tread, maintaining traction.
    • Dual sidewall options: The Renegade R/T+ features an outlaw side with a skull & piston design on one side and mud-penetrating dagger-shaped lugs on the other to choose from.
    • Reduced road noise: A new all-terrain tread design read blocks and bridge reinforcements minimize pattern noise.
    • Longer tread life: Innovative 3-ply construction technology mounded in wide tread blocks improves casing strength for superior durability and load pressure that also makes the tire puncture resistant.

The Renegade R/T+ ranges from 16-inch to 24-inch sizes, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of road vehicles today. Additionally, the tire is backed by a 45,000 mile limited manufacturer warranty for P-metric sizes and a 40,000 mile warranty for LT sizes and is also backed by Radar's road hazard coverage.

    Pros and Cons

Before deciding whether to buy the Radar Renegade R/T+ or not, let’s first drill down on a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    • Off-road compound with advanced chemical fillers for maximum tear resistance and tread life
    • Multiple biting edges for aggressive performance on all types of terrain
    • 3-ply casing technology for superior durability and casing strength
    • Designer sidewalls to choose from
    • All-terrain tread design minimizes noise and irregular wear

While Radar makes a good claim about the Renegade R/T+’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • The ride is firmer than its closest premium competitors
    • Tread noise is a slight issue on rough pavement
    • Not available for use coupes, sedans, minivans, and some CUVs
    • Mud performance, while strong, might be weaker than some competitors
    • Not suitable for use on icy roads

SimpleTire’s view on Radar Renegade R/T+ tires

Meant to be used on light trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs that offer its drivers exceptional off-road performance plus strong handling and a smooth ride on-road, the Radar Renegade R/T+ tire can be considered for conquering multiple terrains like mud, sand, rocks, and gravel while ensuring performance with solid handling.

Additionally, the 3-ply construction reduces puncture risks and increases durability and the wide center tread block evenly distributes the vehicle's weight to promote longer tread life. A travel enthusiast can consider this tire for high-traction without losing grip on dry, wet, and winter weather road and terrain surfaces.

It would not be wrong to say that this is a solid tire built to conquer any terrain. If you are looking for more affordable options and are willing to go with an increased warranty, you can consider the Eldorado Sport Fury AT4S or Laufenn X FIT AT LC01 as they offer a little compromised tread life and traction at a lower price.

Vehicles the Radar Renegade R/T+ is a good replacement tire for

The Renegade R/T+ is an ideal choice for a wide range of vehicles on the roads ranging from Jeeps, pickup trucks, and full-size SUVs. This comes as a good replacement option for vehicles like Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, Chevrolet Colorado, Ford F-350-Super-Duty-XLT, RAM 3500-Lone-Star, and many more.

Great looking tire, not so good in the rain, snow is decent though. Noise well they aren't an M/T tire but they are LOUD. You can definitely hear them above all else. The things we give up for looks, lol.

30k miles in. Here's what to expect: 1. The are actually quite good offroad (highly recommend for gravel) 2. They really aren't that noisy 3. Be careful on wet depending on the tire pressures you run. They will come out from under you. 4. They are impossible to balance, so don't be surprised when they won't do anything about it on warranty. 5. After 30k miles I'm at nearly 75% treadlife. (90% highway, 5% gravel, 5% mud.)

Had these tires less than a month and they already have severe excessive run out.

I brought these tires in size LT295/60/r20. I've had these tires on for about 2000 miles so far and I am in love with then. They look like a mud tire and perform like an all terrain tire. They are super quite compared to the mud tires I had on which were federal couragia MT tires. I havnt gotten a chance to drive them on snow/ice yet, but as for wet and dry road driver. I give them an A+ I would highly recommend these tires if you are looking to get the best bang for your buck.

Running these tires on my 06 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab 5.9 cummins, only had these on for a month or so, haven't experienced any type of weather yet. Dry road is good, minor noise with no music playing. Overall great tire so far.
