Radar is one of the reliable brands of tires owned by Omni United, being made with some of the most stringent regulatory compliances, one of which includes the use of PAH-free oils in their tread compounds. Omni makes use of the latest materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes to produce these universal tires. The tire to be described today is the Radar Dimax R8, which is manufactured for use on high-performance and ultra-high-performance vehicles. As a UHP tire, it features a special rubber compound for high grip and the belt package here ensures high stability at low and high speeds.

If you’re interested in knowing more, read the Radar Dimax R8 review carefully to get more details about the affordable tire with an average SimpleScore of 7.8.

    Features and Benefits

Tires that are used on ultra-high-performance and high-performance vehicles are likely to be pushed a lot. This is the reason that Radar has prepared its own UHP silica compound to be used in the Dimax-R8. Being an affordable tire, it still receives a limited manufacturer warranty. The grip on dry surfaces and removal of water from wet surfaces are essential for this tire to do well, both of which take place here. Expect them to be fairly comfortable and quiet while displaying performance in warm weather conditions. During our Radar Dimax R8 tire review, we found the following features and benefits:

    • Extra tire life- A special patented UHP silica compound available here extends the tire life.
    • Enhanced dry and wet traction- You can expect the silica compound to be responsible for improved dry and wet traction. Wide circumferential grooves expel water quickly for hydroplaning resistance, leading to an average traction SimpleScore of 7.9.
    • Less noise- A Variable Pitch Ratio helps reduce noise and vibrations on the road, ensuring comfort for the occupants.
    • Solid manufacturer’s warranty- You’ll find the Radar Dimax R8 to be available with a limited manufacturer warranty of 35,000 miles. Further, the warranty is a part of the extensive Radar Protect Program that contains other components too, enabling us to award 7.2 as the average longevity SimpleScore.
    • Highly fuel efficient- The tread compound helps give the tires low rolling resistance, leading to high fuel efficiency.
    • Great ultra-high performance- An asymmetric tread pattern here showcases a three-tread design to ensure the tires exhibit great ultra-high performance. A high W speed rating further helps us award this tire 8.3 as the average handling SimpleScore.

    Pros and Cons

Affordability is one of the main reasons to get a high Radar Dimax R8 rating. The following pros and cons will help you decide whether to buy them for your vehicle or not:

    • Good wet and dry traction
    • Handles well
    • Backed by a 35,000 mile limited manufacturer warranty
    • Quiet and comfortable
    • Eco-friendly
    • Generate good fuel efficiency

SimpleTire’s view on Radar Dimax R8 tires

The Radar Dimax R8 is a tire that features a special UHP compound not for better speed, but for greater grip that is useful during agile cornering. This tire contains small features that address virtually every area of performance, including a Variable Pitch ratio for noise reduction. Great wet traction is available due to quick water expulsion from the circumferential grooves and dry traction is good due to the compound. A three-tread design and the asymmetric tread pattern ensure great ultra-high performance, typical of a UHP tire. For longevity, Radar offers a Protect Program that includes a limited manufacturer warranty of 35,000 miles. Since straight-line stability is essential in a tire of this stature, Radar offers a belt package as part of the Dimax R8’s internal composition.

Great handling. The only thing is that in a period of a year I had 3 flats, which makes me think they are not the most robust for everyday driving conditions. In fact because they are hard to find in my state (CA), I have already bought an extra set of 4 that I am storing until I need to replace them. This time I bought the ones you can drive on when flat since my car does not carry a spare.

Amazing tire for the money. CHanged from run-flats on my BMW to these tires. Love the quiet ride and when pushed these tires do well. Are they as good as my previous Pirelli P-Zero run-flats, No they are not but they are 85% of the handling with better tread life, rider quieter and the cost of all four installed was less than one of the Pirelli tires.
