The Prinx PDW1 is a drive-axle tire that's meant for use on semi-trucks in winter weather and regional applications, and offers the ability to perform on regional highways and roads in winter weather conditions on snow and ice. It is Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for use in moderate to severe winter conditions, and features a special winter rubber compound for enhanced snow and ice performance. The three main zigzag grooves and two auxiliary grooves of the PDW1 force water and slush out of the footprint for improved ice and snow traction while providing optimum tread stiffness for better handling. The open shoulder groove design of the PDW1 also ensures snow removal and prevents tire slipping in severe winter conditions. Additionally, the tie-bar linked tread blocks reduce the chances of irregular wear and the full-depth 3D sipes ensure better road grip throughout the service life.
