Based in Milan, Italy, Pirelli has over 150 years of experience in the tire industry and is the fifth-largest tire manufacturer in the world. Pirelli builds great tires for every application and commonly uses their findings from racing and a 2,000+ person research and development team to craft best-in-class consumer tires. Designed for use on luxury and sports sedans and SUVs, the Pirelli P Zero is an ultra-high-performance summer tire that offers drivers maximum performance, improved braking, and enhanced handling.
Features and Benefits
While experiencing summer heat throughout the year, you might need something a bit more durable and better on dry roads than an all-season tire. Summer tires are great at managing higher heat and delivering increased responsiveness, cornering, and braking capabilities. A tire like the Pirelli P Zero delivers high-performance by utilizing natural rubber and other environmentally friendly practices and materials to make better products and protect the environment from damage. Let’s look at some of the features of the tire in this Pirelli P Zero review:
- Superior Handling: RUN FLAT™ technology within the tire provides greater control during a puncture, pressure loss, or blowout by allowing you to continue driving safely even when the inflation pressure is rapidly lost.
- Strong wet and dry grip: Three wide longitudinal grooves within the tread allow for faster water removal to improve wet grip and give drivers control in hydroplaning situations.
- Engineered for high-speed performance: Three solid central ribs improve braking and traction when the speed is higher thanks to an increased pattern stiffness with the optimized and constant area.
- Quiet Ride: Pirelli’s Noise-Canceling System (PNCS) is a technology that cuts the noise inside your car in half by applying a sound-absorbing device to the inside circumferential wall of your tire. This feature is included on select sizes of the P Zero to increase ride comfort.
- Enhanced Performance: Cyber Tire system is the first based on sensorized tires that communicates in real-time to the car. It lets you tailor a safer and more comfortable top driving experience with high-performance levels.
- Longer Tread Life: An S-shape tread design maintains optimal pressure distribution under critical braking conditions on the road, either straight or on corners, which increases tread life.
Pirelli's P Zero tire is available in 17 to 22-inch sizes. These tires offer a wide range of tire sizes to choose from.
Pros and Cons
Before moving ahead with the decision to buy Pirelli's P Zero, let’s first discuss a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.
- The tire offers impressive grip and traction on dry and wet roads thanks to its asymmetric tread pattern that improves braking performance and enhances handling and control.
- Steering responsive is quick and precise and cornering and handling is tight
- The special "S-shaped" grooves in the tread area deliver lower cabin noise levels enhancing driver comfort.
While Pirelli makes a good claim about Pirelli's P Zero’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.
- Quick Treadwear
- Should not be used in ice, snow, or temperatures below 45 degrees
- Some sizes are pricier than their peers
SimpleTire’s view on Pirelli P Zero tires
If you’re looking for a Pirelli P Zero rating, remember that the tire has been chosen as the original equipment on the most performance-oriented, powerful vehicles on the market. Its asymmetric tread pattern improves braking performance and enhances handling and control in wet conditions. Outside of wet performance, the P Zero also ensures maximum grip and stability in dry conditions while its new nano-composite compound delivers uniform tread wear, which is essential in sports driving.
Additionally, Pirelli’s Noise Canceling Technology (PNCS) is available in select sizes to give drivers and passengers a quiet, comfortable ride.

Love my Pirelli P Zeros! My F-Type rides smooth and I can drive with confidence. Sexy tires for a sexy beast of a car!
Needed rear tires for my 981 Boxster, other online tire stores showed 'back ordered' for the Pirelli's I wanted. Simple Tires had them in stock at a much better price, exact match with fronts. I will definitely buy from ST again!
Fantastic tires for the price and the shipping was really fast. Fedex had originally misplaced the order and much to my delight, quickly sent out another set of tires. The original package ended up arriving the next day, but in that time I got to experience Simple Tires fantastic customer service. If you need a tire, simply call simple tire!
I just love the Pirelli tires. They are on my 2005 SSR and the wear performance is doing great. I purchased the front set, I am looking forward to replacing the back tires soon.
Dry asphalt very good, wet not so good, I'm in second gear when I rev it to 6k slips out of control when pavement is wet, tread wears out fast, barely 4500 miles on them, I'm going to need new tires within 10k for rear and probably 15k for front. I drive a 2020 ford mustang ecoboost hpp, 430 HP/ 450 Torque on the crank after tune, probably about 370ish HP / 410 ish torque to the wheels, give or take 12, pirelli p-zero's are crappy tires costing more than $300 per.
they are not as good as i hoped. i won't be purchasing them again. the Nittos performed way better
