Pirelli, the Italy-based tire brand, has been into the business of making tires since 1872 and still continues to cater to the needs of consumer tire market by producing an innovative range of car, motorcycle, and bike tires. Pirelli also has its dominance in various esteemed car and moto competitions besides being a ‘Global Tire Partner’ for F1 motorsport. Designed for use on sedans, coupes, CUVs, and SUVs, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 is the tire manufacturer’s all-season grand touring tire that’s made specifically for luxury touring market in the North American region. Since the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 is an all-season tire, it’s engineered to deliver a compelling year-round performance and offers absolute driving comfort, responsive handling, and enhanced wet weather traction. But does the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 come with adequate capability to adapt to the diverse weather conditions in the United States? Let’s find out in this Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 tire review.

    Features and Benefits

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 is blessed with all the characteristics that a typical all-season tire must have. Its asymmetrical tread design is optimized mainly for use on passenger cars and CUVs in all weather conditions and all its merits can be enjoyed with sedate driving as the tire is not suited for sporty performance. Meant to be driven on paved roads, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 comes with various new-gen technologies that assure enhanced wet braking and handling, while maintaining tread life, comfort, noise, and year-round performance.

The new-gen tread compound and optimized footprint of the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 boost braking and traction in wet weather conditions. Its asymmetrical tread design is carved for optimal traction and handling in dry, wet, and winter seasons. Likewise, there is a continuous outboard shoulder that augments the steering response. The unique pitch sequencing and phasing of various inboard tread blocks reduce road noise for a pleasing drive.

The four wide circumferential grooves of the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 boost water evacuation to reduce the risk of hydroplaning and increase wet traction, whereas the lateral and longitudinal sipes provide more biting edges to enhance traction in wet and winter conditions.

The twin, lightweight steel belts along with spirally wrapped polyamide reinforce the overall internal structure of the Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 and remarkably improve the high-speed durability, ride quality, and handling. The tread blocks are sturdy yet adequately flexible to maintain both comfort as well as tire life of the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2.

The ‘Plus’ moniker in the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 signifies the tire manufacturer’s Puncture Control Technology known as Seal Inside. With the help of this technology, the tire is able to run safely even after a puncture.

Available in 16 to 18-inch rim sizes, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 comes with a 70,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.

    Pros and Cons

Is the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 a worthy buying option in the affordable all-season tire category or should you consider something else? Let’s have a look at the pros and cons before we conclude with our verdict.

    • The tire features an advanced asymmetric all-season tread pattern for commendable traction, grip, and handling year-round.
    • 70,000-mile limited treadwear warranty offers complete peace of mind and returns the higher value on ownership cost.
    • Optimized groove angles control tire noise and boost driving comfort.
    • New-gen tread compound provides confident wet, dry, and light winter traction.
    • Reinforced internal structure improves high-speed durability, ride quality, and handling.
    • Seal Inside puncture control technology allows safer rolling in case of a puncture.

Pirelli is renowned for its innovative technology and claims that the Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 is no exception from its invincible product line-up. But, on a certain front, the Cinturato P7 All Season may divide opinions.

    • It may offer superior grip and traction in all seasons but on the sporty performance and handling fronts, it may not be as good as its rivals.
    • It is a great performer in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions, but do not expect it to be an icy track performer.

Moving from Michelins on my Chevy Volt, I found the Pirellis to be instantly responsive, much quicker to respond to wheel commands while firmly gripping the road. While they are modestly more quiet than the old tires, I was disappointed that they are not quieter. That was the one feature I was hoping for in these tires based upon reviews.

I have these Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus on my 2010 Lexus LS 460L and I new that when it was time for new tires on my 2006 Lexus SC 430 that these were the tires I was replacing the Pirelli P Zero run flate's with. These are great tires. The ride on the SC 430 improved a 1000 percent. You cannot go wrong with the P7's
