Pleasantly surprised
I bought these for our 21' F550 based motorhome. We up sized to the 245 from the OEM 225 with no fitment issues, plenty of room between the duals on the stock wheel. I mounted myself and used 10oz balance beads per tire. Tires are smooth as silk at highway speeds. We run less than the max pressure based on the weight of our rig. These tires don't "sing" over the various pavement types on the highway, in fact no real perceivable noise at all. I run them in all positions, drivability seems unchanged. We tow a Jeep on a trailer and visit many off road parks with poorly maintained roads, mud, wet grass and have been stuck in the past on level ground. So far we have not had any trouble at the off road parks. I was worried going up a load range was going to hurt ride quality but just the opposite. The camper feels much better on road, pavement transition, pot holes, just feels much smoother over all. Some of the dirt roads we see a long and the camper handles this with more compliance. I am guessing this is because of the taller sidewall. Not to dog on the OEM Continentals but everything about these tires so far has been an improvement. The only negative on the new tires is under hard braking you get a feel that the lugs are deforming, you feel a slight vibration but this is just the nature of a lug style tire. Most of our miles are spent on the highway, I could see someone in a daily driver F450/550 having to rotate more often to keep an even tread ware. I would buy again.
