I got these mounted just ahead of our first snow storm. They mounted easily for a 10 ply and were balanced perfectly with no added weight. I've been cruising off road in 6 inches of snow no problem and have only needed 4wd to go up hill in the deep stuff. After the road crews turned the snow to mush, the ride was still good. Also very quiet compared to other studded tires I've had on my 3/4 ton pickup.

I have had studded Hakkapeliitta tires for 20 years, love them. These are the best snow tire I have ever found for living in Northern Vermont. We live and work on the dirt back roads of northeastern VT where the snow and ice stays on the roads from Nov to April.

We live at 9,000 ft. in the San Juan mountains of Colorado on a "Jeep road". We get a lot of snow and ice on our road and driveway. We put these tires on our Chevy Silverado because they had the best ice and snow ratings of any tires that we could find on-line. The ratings were not exaggerated. The tires perform like we had "chained them up" with no loss of traction what so ever. We did have to get used to the "feel" of them on dry pavement. They seem to float a little more than ordinary all-terrain tires, but dry pavement is not why we bought them. We bought them to get us safely off the mountain in severe weather and that's what they do in spades.
