  • Nitto Invo

Founded in 1949, Nitto is a Japan-based tire manufacturer that’s known for offering a unique range of tires for passenger cars, light trucks, CUVs, SUVs, racing cars, and ATVs/UTVs. Alongside offering standard tires to meet daily commuting needs, the tire brand also offers a very unique range of sizes dedicated to enthusiasts.

The Nitto Invo is an ultra-high-performance (UHP) tire that’s designed to provide the owners of performance vehicles a sense of exceptional driving thrill, ride comfort, and quality. The tire is suitable for use in warmer months, and is built utilizing state-of-the-art computer engineering and specialized digital testing equipment to blend both luxury performance perfectly. All kudos to the engineers for making this uniquely attractive tire as you won’t see such a design very commonly in the UHP kind of tires.

There’s a lot more this tire has got and any typical enthusiast or performance seeker would undoubtedly want to know the tire’s true capabilities and highlights. In this Nitto Invo tire review, we have covered the features and benefits, pros and cons, vehicle compatibility, and our verdict to help you make an informed decision.

    Features and Benefits

Ultra-high-performance (UHP) tires have higher speed ratings and are designed for use on supercars, sports cars, and other powerful vehicles. Additionally, they have a wider footprint and a low profile to provide excellent traction and steering response. The Nitto Invo has all these qualities and there are many other features that make it a better performer in the UHP segment, which we have covered below:

    • Better braking and traction – The Nitto Invo has 3D multi-wave sipes that feature an interlocking ripple design, which allows the sipes to lock together while braking so that it acts like a continuous tread block and also boosts traction while accelerating. The braking performance is also enhanced by the inner shoulders present on the tire, which increase the contact patch to provide stability and reduce the braking distance as well as stopping time.
    • Improved acceleration, handling, and control – The tire features an advanced silica-reinforced tread compound that strengthens blocks and minimizes tread flex for improved acceleration, handling, and driving control.
    • Superior dry performance and cornering – The outer shoulder of the Invo features large reinforced tread blocks, which increase the contact patch area and ensure superior dry performance and cornering.
    • Enhanced stability – Thanks to the Invo’s solid center rib that offers continuous road contact for increased rigidity and stability. The rigid pattern helps in maintaining road grip while accelerating and braking.
    • Impressive noise reduction – This tire also has superior noise reduction capabilities. The innovative tread design of the Nitto Invo has uniquely arranged tread blocks that create offset frequencies to reduce tire noise.
    • Exceptional wet weather performance – The twin circumferential grooves present on the Invo’s tread effectively evacuate water to provide exceptional wet weather performance. So, whether driving in the rain or cruising on a wet street, this tire will provide you with confident traction and grip in wet conditions.

The Nitto Invo is offered in 17- to 24-inch rims, and there are as many as 66 sizes to ensure wider compatibility with most performance sedans, coupes, sports cars, and supercars.

    Pros and Cons

Let’s now check out the pros and cons of the Nitto Invo, starting with the pros first:

    • Better handling and durability than most peers.
    • Affordable choice in the segment.
    • Solid dry and wet traction.
    • Less noisy than many other rivals in the segment.
    • Optimum ride comforts make driving more pleasing.
    • Better grip, braking, and stability while driving in dry and wet conditions.

Listed below are some negatives of this tire, which will hint you the areas where it may not impress you much:

    • Tread life isn’t as great as some of its competitors.
    • Not a tire for track racing lovers.
    • No limited manufacturer tread life warranty is offered.
    • Not suitable for driving in snow.

SimpleTire’s view on Nitto Invo tires

    Nitto Invo

If you’re looking for a tire that’s good for high-speed driving on empty highways or something that’s very responsive while driving on mountain roads, especially the ones with a lot of hairpin turns, the Nitto Invo is your ideal companion that’s reasonably priced (compared to the premium brands). Keep in mind, the tire isn’t suited for racing or slalom applications.

While it competes with the likes of the Pirelli P Zero, Continental ContiSportContact 5P, Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 3, Brigestone Potenza Sport, Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 (K117), Toyo Proxes T1 Sport, and Nexen N Fera SU1, it manages to offer better handling and durability than the counterparts. The tire provides solid traction and grip in dry and wet conditions and is unexpectedly very quieter than most peers. The comfort levels of this tire are worth admiring and even the braking and acceleration scores are surprisingly great.

That being said, don’t expect it to have the best tread life in the segment, and likewise, do not consider it a performer in snow. Another thing that might divide opinions is that there’s no tread life warranty offered. But, that’s nothing new, it’s mostly the case with UHPs.

Vehicles the Nitto Invo is a good replacement tire for

Designed for use on performance vehicles, the Nitto Invo can be a good replacement tire for vehicles like Ford Mustang, Infiniti Q60, Porsche 911, Audi R8, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Maserati GranSport, McLaren 650S, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, Mini Cooper Clubman, Volkswagen CC, Lotus Evora, Jaguar XJ, Cadillac STS, Volvo S90, Dodge Dart, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, and BMW M3.

I was expecting better grip for Nitto's 'supercar tire' but I think they underperform for the price point. Running these on the rear of my 2011 LS3 Caprice ~450hp/420tq. They do really well as a daily tire so far, quiet, corner nicely, seem to be wearing nicely and even, but in the dry and the warm I can floor it from 60ishMPH and I break them loose. From a dig they break loose with any anger applied to the throttle, but they do find traction again fairly quickly, so that's a plus. Good tire, just a bit high priced in my opinion.

I purchased these tires after reading a number of reviews from fellow members of the SSRFanatics, a nationwide club for owners of Chevrolet SSR Roadsters. They seemed to fit the bill of what I was looking for and so far - only owned the new tires for less than two months as of this writing - so good. I am primarily a Michelin Super Sport man so these were a new experience all together. Considering they were less than 50% of a replacement set of Super Sports, I must say I am very impressed with the ride, the feel when cornering and with what little rain we have had in the Savannah, GA area this summer, with the performance on wet asphalt. As for my experience with the online purchase from SimpleTire, I could not be happier. They shipped my new tires to a dealer of my choice, who called me once the tires arrived to set an appointment for installation. Everything went as smooth as a baby's you-know-what, could not have been more pleased. Two hours in and out, new tires balanced, installed and the old tires, which I choose to keep, were loaded into my truck. Sincerely, Don Josi

This is the third set of Nitto Invos I've put on my 2002 Harley-Davidson F-150 (300HP Supercharged 5.4L V-8), and I'll never go back! Way better traction than the stock Goodyears - NO COMPARISON in ride, handling, traction. I run 295/35ZR20s (101W rated: 1,819 lbs. & 168 MPH)...they're really fat and give the truck a nice "squatty" look. My truck only has 49,000 miles, so I've never worn out a set...the last ones actually developed dry rot cracks in the radial grooves - after 11 years! My wife drives it mostly, but when I take it out to "blow out the cobwebs", I like to make her wine like Ralph Stanley singing bluegrass! I always come home with a big smile on my face! Highly recommended for Mugtangs, Camaros, any higher power-to-weight ratio cars. I found these through some Prowler drivers - they raved as much as I do now! Well worth the money! (They have come down a lot since first introduced, and SimpleTire had 20% off with free shipping and no tax - way too good to pass up! Great buyer experience!).

These tires hold power very well on a 67 Camaro with 400hp/450 tq BBC. Ride is very nice and quiet overall. Car doesn't see rain so don't know about wet traction, but should be decent on these tires

These tires are king. I've owned Michelin Pilot Support Cup 2 and TOYO Proxes 4 Plus, but these are #1. Grip in dry, confidence in the wet, style all the time.

Awesome tires, quiet, handle extremely well. I've had them for about a year on my camaro. I live in Phoenix so they haven't seen to much snow. I will continue to buy them oh they look pretty cool too!
