Debuted in 1942, Nexen Tire Co. is the first Korean tire company that has been retailing tires globally for the past eight decades. The name Nexen is a combination of the words ‘next’ and ‘century’ and complements its tagline – ‘Next Century Tire’. It manufactures tires in most categories such as all-season, highway terrain, all-terrain, winter, and ultra-high-performance (UHP) for passenger cars, light trucks, CUVs, and SUVs. Falling under its all-season sport tires, the Nexen Roadian HP offers excellent performance on paved roads all year round.
The Roadian HP features a nice-looking tread design which is equally good when it comes to performance. The broad center rib with angular tread not only improves the appearance but also provides superb grip and traction at highway speeds. Backed by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, the Nexen Roadian HP is available in 22 different sizes of 17 to 24 inches.
The company claims the tire is able to deliver superb handling, confident braking, longer wear, and a comfortable ride with high fuel efficiency. Let’s check out how it is able to do that in the Nexen Roadian HP tire review.
Features and Benefits
All-season tires are engineered to provide great traction and grip in dry and wet. They are made to last long and offer good handling and stability as well. Nexen Roadian HP looks to provide the same, let’s understand how.
- All-season traction - The tread of the Roadian HP features large shoulder blocks for high-speed cornering grip and stability, plus an arrow-shaped center tread for improved handling and steering response. The combination of the circumferential and lateral grooves and sipes improves the gripping capability of the tire on both dry and wet surfaces. Additionally, wide, deep grooves flush out water quickly from the tread to avoid the risk of hydroplaning.
- Quiet and comfortable ride - The highly-optimized tread design ensures road noises and vibrations are curbed. The random pitch variation sequence does not allow noise to escape while reducing it to a minimum so that you get a quiet ride experience. Moreover, the flexible sidewall absorbs smaller bumps while the tread interlocks with the surface to provide a comfortable ride.
- Excellent wearability and high fuel efficiency - The special rubber compound used in the Roadian HP reduces uneven wear while promoting gradual wear. At high speeds, the tread curbs heat and generates low rolling resistance which leads to high fuel efficiency. For enthusiastically driven sports trucks, the Nexen offers the right mix of control, grip, and tread life. Another satisfying feature is the limited tread wear warranty of 40,000 miles which offers complete peace of mind.

SimpleTire’s view on Nexen Roadian HP tires
The Nexen Roadian HP (starts around $179) is a jack of all trades and master of none as it offers great dry grip, stability, handling, adequate wet grip, and high fuel efficiency. In the all-season sport tire category of light trucks, it competes with the likes of Nitto Crosstek 2 (starts around $100), Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 (starts around $157), and Toyo Open Country H/T II (starts around $131).
The prices may seem to vary a lot but when you compare specific tire sizes of each brand, you’ll get a different story altogether.
Vehicles the Nexen Roadian HP is a replacement tire for
The Nexen Roadian HP may not have any OE fitment to its name, but it is an excellent replacement option for vehicles such as Mercedes-Benz GL550, Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, Jeep Grand Cherokee, BMW X5, Chevrolet Tahoe and many more.

had a set put on my 2002 silverodo 2500hd went back next day back two had to be replaced bounced and vibrated bad 40 to 55 mph they replaced them now my front ones are doing the same I should have stayed with generals not happy with these tires at all
I bought a set to put on my truck on 22" they handle well and I feel no difference in the ones I paid duble for. Thread is what I was looking for, these stood up to the challenge drove 100miles a day 80mph, 6 days a week! by far is been more then 20k miles I have drove plus heavy braking and they are still solid! Bought a spare just in case but is just catching dust in my spare room.lol
I have this tire in a 24". Very pleased with the ride and road noise. We don't have much of a winter in Georgia. I will continue to order this tire from simple tire.
For the size these are good tires! Fast shipping from simpletire is wonderful!
Tires look good. Seem to handle well. They are very harsh on bumps and pot holes. Maybe they will get better. I think wet is going to be very good. The grooves are huge and deep. Just got all new suspension parts on the x5 and it tracks straight as an arrow with these tires. Just a bit tougher than I had hoped. Maybe they will last a long time.
It's too early to talk about mileage and road noise may develop over time but for now these Nexens are great on the dry and give me equal confidence in the wet. They are quiet and smooth and if all this continues they will be replaced with another set, as they are well worth the price.
The handling and performance of tire is good. Wear is just average. The road noise coming from these tires is HORRIBLE. At only 15k miles going to buy a different set of tires just because of the noise.
Great tires, great price, but very very noisy. They produce a constant hum that changes with vehicle speed.
This is the second time I've purchased these tires and they are great! The OEM tires for my truck were Goodyear Eagle ST, they would wear out in less than a year & cost $1000.00 for a set of 4. The Nexen has better grip & outlast them for half the price $500. Cant go wrong with them. Quick shipping and right price. Simple Tire will remain to be my tire connection.
