People that drive high-performance sports sedans, coupes, modern muscle cars, and sporty crossovers love to use ultra-high-performance tires for their enhanced braking, cornering, and steering response. The downside of summer and UHP tires is that most of them use a softer, stickier tread formulation that delivers great performance and traction, but will stiffen up and lose its grip on colder days. Tire companies advise drivers to not use these tires if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit.

That’s where the Nexen N’Fera AU7 comes in. The N’Fera AU7 offers the kind of responsive handling and braking that you’d associate with a summer/UHP tire, but with an all-season tread formulation for year-round traction. That’s along with the ride comfort, road manners, and low noise you’d expect from a touring tire. Better yet, the N’Fera AU7 features a generous limited manufacturer tread life warranty, something that a lot of summer/UHP tires don’t offer at all.

So what is it about this tire that makes it such a standout in a crowded category? Let’s take a closer look with this Nexen N’Fera AU7 review.

    Features and Benefits

These are just a few of the features that we love about the Nexen N’Fera AU7:

    • Wide circumferential grooves evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch to enhance wet-weather traction and avoid hydroplaning
    • Backed by a 50,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
    • Tread pitch is computer tuned to help keep road noise low
    • Shoulders are designed for excellent cornering ability
    • Dense network of 3D sipes and lateral notches boost wet-weather traction
    • Advanced NanoGrip tread formulation is engineered for great traction and long, even wear
    • Continuous center rib enhances straight-line stability as well as steering response
    • Casing is designed to reduce vibrations and deliver a smooth, comfortable ride

Available in 16” to 20” sizes and H, W, and Y speed ratings, the N’Fera AU7 is also covered by Nexen’s Total Coverage Warranty. This includes a 45-day trial period, 36 months of roadside assistance, Road Hazard Replacement warranty, and tread life warranty.

    Pros and Cons

Like most Nexen tires, the pros outweigh the cons.

    PROS:

    • More affordable than many of its competitors
    • Good range of sizes for various fitments
    • Exceptional warranty and road hazard coverage
    • Sharp, precise handling
    • Superb traction in wet weather

    CONS:

    • Loses traction in heavier snow
    • Not the most fuel efficient tire

    SimpleTire’s view on Nexen N'Fera AU7 tires

Nexen may not be as familiar a name to many drivers as some of the older brands, but that doesn’t mean that this South Korean tire maker puts out a lower quality product. The N’Fera AU7 is a great fit for anyone who’s looking for a tire that can help you carve up a twisty mountain road with confidence, but is equally capable when it comes to long drives on the interstate in wet or dry weather.

The N’Fera AU7 is a true do-it-all tire for all of the above, with performance and value that rivals some of the best summer/UHP tires around. It offers a great, supple ride, long treadwear, low road noise and excellent road manners (like you’d expect with a premium touring tire) along with UHP handling and braking performance. That’s all thanks to top-quality materials and engineering, innovative design, and cutting-edge technology. In the end, what more could you expect from a tire?

Vehicles the Nexen N'Fera AU7 is an OEM tire for

The Nexen N’Fera AU7 is a tire that offers value and performance that’s good enough to be featured as the OEM tire on plenty of performance vehicles, such as the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta SEL and 2021 Volkswagen Passat S.

Vehicles the Nexen N'Fera AU7 is a replacement for

In addition to coming standard on some Volkswagen models, the N’Fera AU7 is a great replacement option for cars like the Audi A4, BMW 5 Series, Dodge Charger, Ford Mustang, Honda Civic, Hyundai Veloster, Kia 5, Mazda3, Nissan 370Z, and Subaru WRX.

15k on them and all have cupped making an intolerable noise. Garbage they were noisy from the start but with the premature cupping it's just sad. nothing like throwing money away.

These tires are cheap, quiet, and handle well on my A4 in dry weather. Snow isn't bad as well. Wet is ok. 30k miles on them and they may have 10k left tops and that's pushing it. Includes regular rotation.

I replaced the R19 factory installed Ultra High Performance Dunlops on my Mazda 6 with these Nexens as I was looking for a good all-season tire and I had bought Nexen before for a different car. I am very happy with them. I've had them roughly three months and travel about 400 miles a week. They are quiet, handle well and grip well in snow and rain. I lost a little gas mileage going from a UHP tire to an all-season tire, but that's to be expected. The improved traction in snow and ice is worth it.

Amazing tires for the money -- quiet, handle terrifically, cheap. I rode on these 5 days after installation in a torrential downpour that lasted over an hour, at no point did I feel these tires give an inch. One noticeable downside -- they will track poorly on bridge grating, wandering a bit over them. A small price to pay for really incredible value tires like these.

Bought 4 sets of Nexen, much more performance and confidence than I expected before! Not much had Nexen image though, but now I am pretty sure how it works. That's why more people fitting Nexen into the vehicle recently. Thinking of purchasing another Nexen for my pickup.
