Been on my Xterra for a couple of months. Seems to handle well on pavement, wet areas and when I take it off-roading. So far so good, will probably buy another if needed.

Ideally, an all-terrain tire for a Jeep, light truck, SUV, or crossover should be able to offer durability and reliable traction in mud, sand, gravel, snow, or broken terrain off the pavement while still delivering low noise, good road manners, stability, and predictable handling and cornering on the road. Some all-terrain tires can meet a bunch of those expectations, but maybe not quite all of them.
The Lionclaw ATX2 from Lionhart is engineered to answer those needs. It’s a tire that can offer civilized performance on the street along with the kind of off-road traction that won’t slow you down or let you down. So is this Lionhart tire really and truly that kind of tire? Let’s break it down and take a closer look with this Lionhart Lionclaw ATX2 review.
Features and Benefits
All-terrain tires are engineered for on- and off-road performance, and Lionhart built this tire with that purpose in mind.

- Solid center rib means improved road manners, straight-line stability on the highway, steering response
- Tread pattern is randomized and computer-tuned to keep road noise low
- Full-depth sipes continue to boost traction even as the tread surface wears down
- Steel belted radial construction for durability
Pros and Cons
Here’s what drivers love about the Lionhart Lionclaw ATX2 ( and a couple of things they don’t):
PROS:
- Dependable traction in off-road conditions
- Surprisingly quiet and comfortable ride on the highway
- Affordable price point
CONS:
- Not backed by a limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- Traction on wet pavement could be better
- Not the most fuel efficient tire
SimpleTire’s view on Lionhart Lionclaw ATX2 tires
To put it simply, the Lionhart Lionclaw ATX2 is a tire that delivers a great bang for the buck and performs well for its price point. It’ll help you navigate offroad conditions and difficult terrain with ease without losing its composure on the street. It’s durable and dependable for daily drivers, without the noisy tread that many all-terrain tires have, and it’ll get you through snow, mud or sand competently.
Drivers have noted that the Lionclaw ATX2 can be a little squirrely on wet pavement, although that’s anecdotal. As for the treadwear warranty, it’s not uncommon for affordable all-terrain tires to not be covered by a mileage warranty. Still, considering the price of the Lionhart Lionclaw ATX2, we feel that it offers plenty of performance and value for your money.

I can't speak on road noise or winter. Winter hasn't got here yet, plus Florida don't get snow. Secondly road noise is not why I bought the tires, my truck is lifted so, mostly I bought them for price and how aggressive they look
Generally these have been my preferred slightly aggressive AT tire. They don't harm MPG much since I can still get into the 20s. They do well on most medium offroad scenarios and hold traction very well on trails. Their biggest flaws are how they handle in wet weather and how many rocks they pickup. I believe the issue with the water is they don't direct enough water out of the tread to make the tire feel good above 65 mph. The treads also love to grab and fling small rocks which isn't pleasurable.
I initially purchased a set of four tires and had the mounted and balanced. My 2024 ram 2500 pick up truck shook violently after they were mounted properly. Upon investigation, the technicians discovered that one of the tires had a road force balance of over 106. Simple tire allowed me to submit a warranty claim for the tire but said it was going to take a period before I could get my new tire; and this left my vehicle disabled, So I ordered another new tire from simple tire. I received the tire in about three days, and took it to the technician promptly to have it mounted to replace the bad tire that I already received. The new tire was mounted and it was discovered that the road force balancing on it was 63 which is also twice the allowable limit. I have resigned to waiting for simple tire to process two warranty claims in order that I may have a safe vehicle to drive. But I received 2 defective Lionhart Lionclaw ATX2 285/60R20 tires that were way out of round! They are so far out of around that it's impossible to balance them and they caused the vehicle to shake violently.
They shipped quickly and without issue. I live in south AL so I haven't tried any snow yet but dry and wet roads seem to work well and they do well in the sand and red dirt roads. They're quiet on the pavement and they balanced easily with bags and ride is smooth. They do what they're meant to.
Dry conditions and wet conditions seem decent. The tires are a little noisy.
They are ok so far. We haven't had any winter conditions yet. Not to noisy and I like the tread design.
