Great tires at Great price!
Vehicle(s): 2001 Audi TT225 Quattro & 2015 Volkswagen Golf R Tire Model: Lionhart LH-503 All-Season Size: 245/40R18 Miles Driven: ~24,000 miles (Golf R), 2+ years on TT225 Driving Conditions: Daily driving, road trips, rain, light snow, and spirited mountain driving Driving Style: Spirited but responsible ???????? (4 out of 5 stars) The Real-World Budget Tire Review I've been running Lionhart LH-503s on both my MK7 Golf R and TT225 Quattro. I've used these tires year-round -- through rain, light snow (including Canada), and regular road trips. I take annual 10+ hour drives (sometimes daily for a month straight), and both cars tackled the Tail of the Dragon on these. No, they're not Michelin PS4s -- but they don't claim to be. They handle moderate spirited driving just fine. The tires hold traction in the rain surprisingly well, and only squeal when pushed hard (which I expected). Treadwear has been great: after 24K miles on the Golf R, the center tread still looks new. Only camber/toe wear damaged tire prematurely due to excessive weight and being lowered. The TT225 is still on its set from 2022. The cons? They're heavier than premium tires, and road noise is noticeable -- but nothing a little music can't drown out. Ride quality is slightly firm, but nothing harsh. Overall, for the price, they've outperformed expectations. If you understand their limits and drive accordingly, the LH-503s are a solid choice for someone who needs all-season performance on a budget.
I was a tire snob and always bought Michelin tires. These came with a car I bought so I was going to wear them out before buying new tires. I was very impressed with them and bought a set of 4 for my sons car. They only required one small weight to balance for each tire. The price is about a third of the Michelins I was planning on buying.
I am very impressed with the quality of these tires considering the low price. The ride is much smoother compared to the run flat tires I used to drive with. Additionally, I've noticed a huge reduction in noise on the road.
