For most drivers, all-season tires meet their needs as they are a great do-it-all solution. Most drivers have certain expectations for an all-season tire; they’re looking for long tread wear, dependable traction in a variety of conditions, good road manners and handling, a quiet, comfortable ride, and good braking and steering response. That’s exactly the niche that the Kumho Solus TA71 falls into.

Kumho might not have the brand recognition of some manufacturers, but they’re one of the oldest and most respected brands in South Korea and have a worldwide presence in manufacturing and distribution. Kumho tires are now OEM on plenty of makes and models, but is this the tire that’s the best fit for your vehicle and your needs? Let’s explore and do a quick roundup of features and benefits for the Kumho Solus TA71.

    Features and Benefits

    • V or W speed ratings available for high-speed performance
    • Backed by 60,000 mile limited manufacturer warranty
    • Silica-enriched tread formulation is engineered to stay flexible for great year-round traction
    • Circumferential grooves evacuate water from tire’s contact patch for enhanced resistance to hydroplaning
    • 3D sipes boost traction in wet, dry, and winter conditions by creating additional biting edges
    • Kumho’s proprietary ESCOT casing design optimizes sidewall cord tension distribution, for a stiffer, better-handling, more durable tire
    • Twin steel belts with spiral-wound nylon cap layer increase strength and durability
    • Jointless bead wire package helps isolate bumps and vibrations for an improved ride
    • Tread pitch is computer-tuned for low road noise
    • Enhanced footprint for better handling, road manners and even wear

    Pros and Cons

    Pros:

    • Affordable
    • Quiet, comfortable ride
    • Precise and predictable handling properties
    • Long treadwear and 60,000 mile limited manufacturer warranty
    • Wide range of sizes for various fitments

I am very pleased with the tires I purchased here. They are nice and quiet and handle well. Haven't had them in rain or snow yet but I'm sure they will do fine. So far they have exceeded my expectations.

Not as aggressive as the 51 version for this brand of tire but has an open tread design that works well.

Only have about 300+ miles on these tires. Overall I am satisfied with the tires. I will be being again if the treadlife is good. Oh, forgot to mention the ride noise is virtually nonexistent.

I only owned the tires for about a year until my car got stolen with these tires on it. I had a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L sedan with a 4 cylinder. These tires replaced the original Michelins. They were a little quieter than the Michelins. However, the car seemed to wander when the Kumhos were installed. The only way I could deal with the wandering was to put more air in the tires than recommended. I would buy these tires again because of the low price compared to other major brands.
