They hardly needed balancing! Great solid tires. I noticed on the highway they float a little more, requiring a little more correction when traveling highway speeds. I think it's due to the aggressive tread. Noise on the highway is barely there. It's a soft compound tire compared to the ones I've had previously. But I do like them . You can tell they are quality tires.

Kumho is a tire manufacturer that provides high-quality products using cutting-edge technology to clients all over the world. With 8 factories, Kumho has expanded from its small beginnings in South Korea to become one of the biggest tire producers in the world.
The Kumho Road Venture MT71 is a mud-terrain tire that provides better handling and maximum off-road traction for Jeeps, light trucks, and SUVs.
However, is it the best tire for your vehicle and your budget? Let's take a look at a review of Kumho Road Venture MT71 to see if it's the right tire for you.
Features and Benefits
A few of the ways Kumho Tire USA's dealers, wholesalers, and distributors tested the new Road Venture MT71 tire include crawling over slick rocks, climbing semicircular cliff walls, getting into deep, steep pits, and standing on top of small red rock ledges. To determine whether these tires are designed to perform in these conditions, let's look at the features and benefits of Kumho Road Venture M71.
- Aggressive tread pattern: These tires have a complex tread pattern that enhances traction on soft, loose, and uneven surfaces for the duration of the tire's useful life. An aggressive design offers improved off-road traction and climbing performance.
- Great handling: Staggered tread blocks maintain the tire's surface contact and improve steering responsiveness. Increased block stiffness boosts on- and off-road characteristics for great handling.
- Durability: A longer tread life is made possible by the Road Venture MT71's robust tread compound, which also resists cuts and chips. Under load pressure, the reinforced internal structure maintains the ideal tire shape while shielding it from damage from the outside. Moreover, the long-lasting rubber compound and ideal tread stiffness encourage a slower, more even wear to increase tread life.
- Stone Ejector bar to clean the tread: A high void ratio and staggered tread blocks prevent stone retention and preserve a clear footprint. Mud and stone ejector bars, between the shoulder lugs, guard against stone drill damage and facilitate self-cleaning
- Better off-road traction: For the best off-road traction, these tires have a high void tread pattern, a zigzag design, and a dual pitch design. A detailed tread design offers strong traction on mud, rocks, gravel, and sand. No matter what angle you're hitting the terrain at, the lugs reach all the way around to the middle of the sidewall to provide incredible traction.
Pros and Cons
So, is this mud-terrain tire a good fit for your light truck? Before giving our final opinion, let's first look at its Pros and Cons:
- Dual pitch design with zigzag center to provide great off-road traction
- Rigid vertical and lateral block provides better handling
- Chamfer Cut, an angled c-cut design, provides maximum traction
- Reinforced sidewalls and strengthened, stiffer tread blocks offer tenacity in harsh terrains
- Aggressive tread design to boost climbing performance and off-road traction
- Black sidewall
- Stone ejector bars to remove rocks, stones, and other debris
- Quiet ride
Kumho Road Venture MT71 is unquestionably a very good mud-terrain tire, but there are some areas where it could be improved:
- Speed rating could be better
- Lack of sipes and grooves could cause less traction on ice and still water, However, a mud-terrain tire may not require this feature

They are better than the Michelin tires
My ride is completely changed from BFGoodrich noisy ride! to my new tires what I have now, I could actually hear myself talking in the jeep!!! Great ride.
Great tires. I decided to buy it because I read in the comments that those were low noise... and I was surprised how quiet it is for a mud tires , 100% recommended
I've owned other SUVs and used most brands but found Kumho AT51s great for road tires. Recently I bought a Nissan Safari Y60 and decided to try the Mt71s Best tire I've ever come across. No idea how they made it so quiet. Half the price of BFGoodrich and better off-road tires. I also track cars a lot and Kumho also a top choice. I believe the Kumho is the first Mud Terrain that works like a road tire on the highway. Bravo to their design team and of course the price is right!
Just put these tires on Friday and couldn't resist test them in muddy conditions on Saturday and will say they perform very well. Hit a couple spot that jeeps we're having issues. They are on a 97 ram 1500 with a ranch hand ledgen bumper. There a lot quieter than I was expecting but there not super loud. Can have my radio on 20 and talk normal with the windows down.
