Touring tires are the perfect compromise for someone who’s looking for a comfortable, forgiving ride with low noise and good road manners, as well as responsive handling and year-round traction. That makes Touring tires a great choice for luxury sedans, upscale crossovers, and minivans – in other words, you can think of Touring tires as an all-season tire with more emphasis on ride quality and quiet.

That’s where the Kumho Majesty Solus KU50 comes in, but it’s a bit of a departure from the formula mentioned above. The Majesty Solus KU50 offers refined ride quality and low noise, but with the design of an ultra-high-performance tire. What you can expect with this tire, and it certainly delivers on that promise.

So what is it about the tire that makes it such a great choice? We’ll take a closer look with this Kumho Majesty Solus KU50 review.

    PROS:

    • Exceptionally low noise for a quiet ride
    • Sharp, crisp handling in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions

Unfortunately, no tire is perfect and that’s the case with the Majesty Solus KU50 too:

    CONS:

    • Cannot be used when temperatures are consistently below 45 degrees Fahrenheit
    • Acceleration could be better
    • Is not backed by a limited manufacturer tread life warranty

SimpleTire’s view on Kumho Majesty Solus KU50 tires

Summer/UHP tires aren’t usually known for low noise and sophisticated ride quality, but that’s what you get with the Kumho Majesty Solus KU50. Or, alternatively, you can think of the Kumho Majesty Solus KU50 as a Touring tire that delivers summer/UHP performance. Either way would be accurate for summing up this tire.

First off, the ride comfort and noise level with this tire are second to none – it’s quieter than most vehicles’ OEM tires. The Majesty Solus KU50’s cornering, braking, and handling are also outstanding, thanks to its sipe pattern and silica-rich tread formulation. Put all that together (along with low rolling resistance and improved fuel economy) and you have a real winner.

No, the Kumho Majesty Solus KU50 isn’t an all-season tire. It’s a UHP tire and its tread formulation isn’t designed for cold weather – manufacturers advise against using UHP tires if temperatures are lower than 45 degrees. Additionally, the lack of warranty might be off-putting to some buyers, but keep in mind that most UHP tires are not covered by a tread life warranty.

Kumho is one of Korea’s biggest tire makers, and their tires are finding their way onto more and more vehicles as the OEM tire of choice from the factory. Their reputation has been on its way up for years now, and tires like the Kumho Majesty Solus KU50 are a reason why the brand is held in such high esteem now. We really think the Majesty Solus KU50 is a tire that can hold its own with the best tires on the market.

These tires came OEM on my 2019 Kia Forte S. Had them on the car since 2019 and they lasted a very long time. Decided to get a brand new set of 4 after 2 years. Very satisfied with this tire! Highly recommended.
