Drivers of CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks long for a tire that can provide stable handling year round, and the Ecsta STX KL21 from Kumho was designed to do that and more. Wide grooves within the tire's tread pattern move water away from the tire to increase traction on wet roads while reducing the likelihood of hydroplaning. The Ecsta STX KL21's tread blocks are placed in a way that reduces road noises so that drivers consistently receive a quiet, comfortable ride, while the tire's lower sidewall protects it and the wheel from curb damage. Thanks to its all season capabilities, the Ecsta STX KL21 is typically used on today's most popular CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks such as the BMW X5, Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Ram, Ford F150, GMC Envoy, Mercedes ML 430, Toyota Tacoma, and Volkswagen Touareg.

Standards that measure treadwear, temperature resistance and traction, example: "640 A A". The 640 is the treadwear test and it lasted 6.4 times longer than the comparison tire tested against. The first "A" is the traction rating using straight-line wet traction on test surfaces (see information tables tab) and the second "A" is the temperature rating by testing operation at high speeds without heat-related failure (see information tables tab)
