South Korean tire manufacturer Kumho Tire is a subsidiary of the Chinese tire brand Doublestar, and has facilities spread across China, Vietnam, the USA, and its home country. It produces tires for passenger cars, crossovers, SUVs, light trucks, and commercial vehicles in different categories such as all-season, all-terrain, all-weather, UHP, mud-terrain, summer, and winter. Among its range of all-season tires, the Eco Solus KL21 is a proven name as it offers improved grip and traction year-round with extra longevity.

Designed for passenger cars and SUVs, the Eco Solus KL21 features low rolling resistance design that helps in returning high fuel efficiency. The all-season tread pattern and special silica rubber compound allows for improved grip and traction in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. The tire not only offers great longevity but also low carbon footprint, unmatched by its rivals at this price band. Backed by the manufacturer's limited tread life warranty of 60,000 miles, the Kumho tire seems to be a good option for vehicle owners eying longevity.

So, how does it deliver on the promise it makes? Let’s try to find out the answer in this Kumho Eco Solus KL21 tire review.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are engineered to offer superb grip, traction, and stability in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions alongside excellent tread life. Despite being a value tire, the Kumho manages to tick most of the boxes to qualify for a capable all-season tire option.

    • Improved traction year-round – A non-directional tread pattern and ribbed design allows for improved grip on dry as well as wet surfaces. Additionally, the deep grooves and dense sipes make a firm control over light snow, and hence, it can be used in light winter weather conditions as well. The circumferential grooves flush out water quickly from the tread to regain traction and avoid the risk of hydroplaning.
    • Confident cornering - Solid shoulders with lateral grooves improve wet traction and provide confidence when cornering at moderate speeds.
    • Longevity - The dual steel belt construction provides additional strength and durability for a longer service life. The optimized block arrangement not only reduces noise levels but also divides driving pressure optimally boosting even wear. The use of high-dispersion silica and anti-abrasion carbon black limits uneven wear.
    • Environmentally friendly with high fuel efficiency – The special silica compound reduces particle emission in the environment which reduces air pollution while low rolling resistance maintains excellent contact with the road all the time which helps it return high fuel economy.

The Kumho Eco Solus KL21 is the the originally mounted tires on my Hundai Tuscon. They are not easy to find but worth the effort. Using Simple tire I was able to purchase two of these tires at an excellent price mounted by professionals for a low price.

Since I've put these tires on my 2014 BMW X6 it's like a new car! Handles better , it's a smoother ride and more quite. Love these tires and love the cost from Simple Tire. I saved almost $100/tire when compared to Tire Rack ! I'll be buying from Simple tire Again! Michelin eat your heart out!

These are a great tire for the money. They are quiet and have lasted a long time. I switch them out in the winter so I can't comment on how they are in the snow, but for my summer driving they have proven to be a great tire.

Good quiet tire. Replaced OE Michelin. Not enough miles to do a full review on yet, just initial impressions.
