The Crugen HP71 offers superb ride quality, handling and road manners in an all-season tire, along with a comprehensive warranty package and fantastic quality and attention to detail.
So what is it that makes this tire so great? Let’s get into our Kumho Crugen HP71 review to see if this is the right tire for your vehicle.
Features and Benefits
As an all-season tire, the Crugen HP71 is built for year-round use. That being said, the tire needs certain features to allow for year-round performance.
- Full-depth sipes and lateral grooves enhance traction in wet or wintry conditions
- Wide circumferential grooves move water away from the tire’s contact patch to resist hydroplaning and boost wet-weather grip
- Solid center rib helps deliver great straight-line stability and steering response
- Robust shoulder blocks for excellent cornering and long, even wear
- Kumho’s Variable Pitch Technology reduces road noises for a quiet, comfortable ride
- Two wide steel belts with two-ply polyester cord body and spiral-wound nylon cap ply
Available in 16” to 22” sizes for a wide variety of vehicle fitments, the Crugen HP71 is also backed by a 65,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty.
Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Long wear
- Quiet, comfortable ride

SimpleTire’s view on Kumho Crugen HP71 tires
So what are you looking for in an all-season tire for your SUV or CUV? The list is usually long wear, low noise, a comfortable ride, good performance in wet or dry weather, responsive handling and good road manners on the highway. Good news: the Kumho Crugen HP71 gets the job done in all those categories.
Kumho might not be the first name that comes to mind for many drivers when they think of premium all-season tires, but that doesn’t mean that they’re an inferior brand at all. Kumho is one of the biggest tire manufacturers in South Korea, and Kumho tires are featured as original equipment for more and more vehicles when they leave the factory. At SimpleTire, we’ve been consistently impressed with their products, their features, their quality and their performance, and the Crugen HP71 is no exception. With its long warranty phase, features, design and quality, you can’t go wrong with this tire.

Worst product I've ever purchased! I contacted customer service and they sent me an email to make a insurance claim. Looks like I'm going to get the runaround. The website says it could take 3 months, pathetic!
The Kunho tires that came with my car started falling apart at about 16000 miles. Chunks of the tires were coming out of the tread. I was on vacation in S.C. and could not find a dealer to warranty the defect so I replaced them with Good year tires. I told the tire store to keep them as I didn't have the room in my car to take them with me. This was a $700.00 plus expense I should not have incurred. DO NOT BUY!!!!
5000 miles in, the entire car is vibrating badly. Balanced and rotation every 3k miles
I have 235/35 R19's as OEM on my 2022 EV 6. After 19000 miles, I already need new tires. I have a GT line model and drive in Eco mode 95% of the time. I make sure to not over inflate the tires/manufacturer recommendation. I know EV tires can run through tires faster, but to me, this is terrible life for a tire on a car.
2019 Mercedes Benz GLS450 20". The Kumho Crugen HP71 is rated to last 65K miles but only lasted 24K all the way to the wear bar indicators I had bought new tires back on 8/2022 with 57K miles on my wife's car. I just replaced them 3/2024 with 81k miles on the car. Something is not right with the rubber compound. Fortunately, Discount Tire credited the premature wear on new tires. Thank goodness for Discount Tire.
The tires look good, ride good and can't beat the price. I would recommend them for your vehicle ??'??
So i got another set when they wore out. Original lasted about 50k which is good. No problem with the new ones
