     Kenda Vezda Touring 4S (KR211)

If there’s one thing that’s been a game changer in the tire business, it’s the way that more affordable tires now offer features and designs that used to be found only on some of the most expensive premium tires. Here at SimpleTire, our team has been impressed with the entire Kenda product line for some time.

While the Kenda name might not be familiar to many American drivers, the company was established in Taiwan in the early 60s with bicycle, golf cart, lawn/turf, and OTR tires. In the following years, Kezda has built a worldwide presence, including a technical center in Akron, OH. The Vezda Touring 4S (KR211) is a nice example of what Kenda has to offer these days – it’s a premium-quality all-season touring tire for sedans, minivans, and crossovers and it’s a versatile one-tire, year-round solution for drivers who live in areas that experience four distinct seasons. It comes with a generous treadwear warranty and innovations, making it a real value and standout performer.

But don’t just take our word for it – let’s go in for a closer look at the Kenda Vezda Touring 4S (KR211) in this product line review:

    Features and Benefits

Here are just a few of the features that give the Kenda Vezda Touring 4S (KR211) some distinct advantages when compared to other all-season touring tires:

    • Proprietary tread compound infused with silica, soybean oil, carbon black, resins and functional polymers for year-round traction and long, even wear
    • Asymmetric all-season tread with deep circumferential and angled grooves that evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch to avoid hydroplaning on wet roads
    • Extra density of sipes toward the tire’s center rib for stable straight-line stability and sharp steering response
    • Large outside shoulder blocks are reinforced for rigidity and predictable cornering ability, resisting tread squirm and deformation during hard maneuvers
    • Tread pitch computer tuned, randomized to cancel certain frequencies and harmonics and keep highway noise to a minimum
    • 60,000 mile manufacturer’s treadwear warranty
    • Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rated for severe winter service

    Pros and Cons

This is a tire where the pros outweigh the cons:

    PROS:

    • True year-round traction
    • Surprisingly generous treadwear coverage
    • Innovative and eco-friendly tread formulation
    • 3PMSF rating for winter performance

    CONS:

    • Handling isn’t up to performance tire standards

SimpleTire’s view on Kenda Vezda Touring 4S (KR211) tires

As we said up front, our team at SimpleTire has been fans of the Kenda product line for a while now. The Vezda Touring 4S (KR211), in our estimation, is a tire that presents a great value for drivers. You won’t find many tires at this price point offering a 60,000 mileage warranty, and you won’t find many with the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake certification for severe winter service. It’s truly a year-round tire capable of every kind of condition except maybe trying to get through several inches of snow or ice, where a dedicated winter tire is likely the only thing that can get the job done.

On the highway, the straight-line stability of the Kenda Vezda Touring 4S feels as stable as a locomotive, but the steering response is still quick and accurate. Ride quality is forgiving and refined, and the Vezda doesn’t lose its composure easily, even when going over irregular pavement or potholes. It’s a tire that will get a little noisier on certain pavement surfaces but is serenely quiet on smoother roads. And no, it doesn’t handle like a UHP tire, but it’s a tire that’s designed for sedans, minivans, and crossovers, with touring-tire comfort and road manners.

At the price point, the Kenda Vezda Touring 4S (KR211) is a tire that outperforms expectations and punches far above its weight class. At SimpleTire, we don’t make recommendations like that very lightly, but we can get behind this one wholeheartedly.
