Starting its journey in 1962 as a bicycle tire manufacturer, Kenda Tire was founded in Yuanlin, Taiwan. Later, the company forayed into manufacturing tires for two-wheelers, lawn & garden vehicles, trailers, golf carts, light trucks, ATVs, and passenger cars. It now rolls out a wide range of tires from its facilities in Mainland China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Vietnam in multiple categories such as all-season, all-terrain, mud terrain, racing, and ultra-high-performance (UHP). Falling among its all-season tire lines, the Kenda Klever S/T KR52 delivers excellent traction and grip in dry, wet, and winter weather conditions.

Designed to be used on CUVs and SUVs, the sturdy Klever S/T KR52 is available in 16 to 22-inch rim sizes which means it can fit most SUVs on the road. Built with a high-strength rubber compound, the Klever S/T KR52 not only provides solid performance in different weather conditions, but it also assures of even wear and a longer service life. The asymmetric tread pattern ensures there is enough traction on dry and wet surfaces along with excellent wearability. For the budget constraint buyers, the Klever S/T KR52 looks to be a ‘clever’ option here as it also features a 60,000 miles limited tread wear warranty. Let’s find out more about it in this Kenda Klever S/T KR52 tire review.

    Features and Benefits

By lending superior traction on dry as well as wet surfaces, all-season tires offer the best of both worlds. The Kenda Klever S/T KR52 too assures effective traction in dry, wet, and winter weather conditions. Let’s see how it does that.

    • Great traction, effective grip – An asymmetric tread design with multiple sipes and grooves ensures the contact patch smoothly interlocks with the surface while expelling water efficiently from its surface. The circumferential and lateral grooves on the shoulders assist in the quick removal of water. On dry surfaces, these grooves and sipes lend extra bite for superior traction and confident cornering.
    • Year-round performance, 60,000 mile warranty – The optimized tread design, ribbed pattern, and strong shoulders with lateral grooves not only improve traction but also help in enhancing handling, stability, and comfort. The excellent tread life warranty of 60,000 miles is a testament to the sturdy compound used in the manufacturing of the Klever S/T KR52.
    • Excellent wearability – The use of special silica compounds and reinforced construction ensures the tread wear is even and controlled. Despite providing excellent traction and grip on dry and wet surfaces, the wearability is gradual which leads to the longer service life of the tire. Moreover, the contact patch perfectly balances pressure and distributes it among the blocks to avoid any irregular wear.

    Pros and Cons

Although you get a good amount of exciting features in the Kenda Klever S/T KR52, there are some disadvantages as well. Let’s have a look at its pros and cons before our final say.

    Pros

    • Asymmetric tread pattern with sipes and grooves for improved dry and wet performance
    • Special silica compound for longer service life
    • Ribbed pattern for better handling and stability
    • Circumferential grooves for quick dispersal of water to avoid hydroplaning
    • Great all-season attributes at an affordable price
    • 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty

    Cons

    • It isn’t suitable for severe winter weather conditions
    • Lesser performance compared to top-tier tires

I have been extremely happy with my purchase of these Kenda Klever tires for my 2017 Ford Flex. They have been very quiet and handle the road very nicely. I haven't had them long enough to surmise tread wear or winter handling but I expect they will exceed my expectations there as well. Great service and great price from Simple tire as well. Very quick shipper!! I will definitely purchase these for my wifes Honda CRV when the time arises!! Thanks Gary

This tire, despite its economical price, rides just as well if not better than other, more expensive brands. I am very satisfied both with the tire and with the service I received from Simple Tire.

Overall good tire as i now have about 30,000 miles on them on a Tundra. I blew one out and opted for the Uniroyal Tiger Paw for replacement and so far i like this one a bit better, but time will tell. I got the Klevers on sale for less then $70.00 a tire and gave them a try and they handle well on dry roads and ride good. Price went up so as of now i would spend the extra and get the Michelin Defenders instead. I will update you on Tiger Paw. Uniroyal is owned by Michelin now.

Saved almost $200 on this set and so far am pleased with them. They ride nice or better than the stock tires that came on our 2015 Murano and I am sure they will last just as long if not longer.

Okay, so here's the deal with these. When I first put them on I was SUPER impressed. They are very quiet and I experienced them through rain and snow and these tires are just as good if not better than Bridgestone Duelers, which I have had two sets before the Kenda's. What I've had some trouble with is that after four months I noted a vibration after my first rotation. I had them balanced three times and it would not go away. Finally, it was determined that the tires were out of round. Simple Tire was great to deal with. Sent them the letter from the tire installer letting them know of the trouble and got two new tires right out. Less than a week later, new tires on and on my way. Since then I still have a slight vibration but not enough to pursue any further action.....but it is noticeable but I am a bit OCD about that kind of thing as I drive A LOT! I don't yet know about tread life but so far the tread wear seems typical and that I might get 50,000+ out of these. Traction is great, noise is great, had a little trouble with quality/balancing and not sure yet about tread life. At this point I can't say if I would buy these again, but we will see.
