I've previously run Bridgestone Blizzaks and Pirelli Snow Control tires in the winter. The Blizzaks were absolutely amazing. They made the Pirelli's feel like all season tires. I've now been running these Kelly Snowtrakkers for about 1,000 miles and in the worst winter we've had in Chicago in many years. They're amazing. I've yet to get stuck and I've been testing them pretty hard. Tire noise is pretty loud but it doesn't bother me. You forget about it after a week or so. I'd say these perform just as well as the Blizzaks but have deeper tread depth, a higher speed rating and are WAY cheaper.

The Snowtrackker Radial ST/2 is pre-drilled for easy installation of studs for extreme winter weather, and features wide circumferential grooves, sipes, blading, and aggressive tread blocks for grip in snow, slush and ice. Remember that winter tires use a softer, more pliable tread compound that wears quickly in warmer weather, and shouldn't be used when it's warmer than about 40 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
