The best premium touring tires are the tires that will deliver silky ride quality, whisper-quiet noise level, and great road manners on a long highway trip, yet will also offer the kind of all-season traction that means you’re ready for whatever the road ahead can throw your way. That’s what you can expect with the Hankook Kinergy ST (H735).
The Kinergy ST (H735) is the result of years of research and development as well as real-world experience, and the result is a tire that rivals the performance and value of touring tires that cost far more. Don’t just take our word for it, though – let’s delve into the details with this Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) review.
Features and Benefits
Hankook covered all the angles with the Kinergy ST (H735), a tire that’s loaded with features and innovations that enhance performance and value.
- Tread blocks are optimized for maximum stiffness, which improves stability at highway speed, handling, cornering and steering response
- Notches and sipes are designed to boost traction in wet or wintry conditions
- Four wide, deep circumferential grooves channel water away from the tire’s contact patch to resist hydroplaning effect in standing water
- Footprint is designed to put the most rubber in contact with the road to increase stability
- Rigid center rib for great straight-line stability and steering response
- Tread pitch is sequenced to cancel certain frequencies and reduce road noise
- Open shoulder and wide lateral grooves boost wet-weather traction
- Backed by a 70,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
Pros and Cons
So, is this the right tire for your ride and budget? Before you decide, let’s take a look at the tire’s strengths:
PROS:
- Low noise and supple ride quality
- Long, even wear and generous treadwear coverage
- Great tire for long trips
Unfortunately, no tire is perfect and that’s true for the Kinergy ST (H735) too:
CONS:
- Not great in deeper snow
- Dry-pavement handling and cornering doesn’t compare to performance-oriented tires
SimpleTire’s view on Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) tires
Hankook still isn’t a brand that has the name recognition of, say, Goodyear, and that’s too bad. Tires like the Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) definitely compare favorably to tires that cost far more, and this is a tire that would be right at home on a luxury sedan or an upscale crossover or minivan.
The Kinergy ST (H735) is quiet and comfortable on the highway, with the kind of road manners that make long hours on the interstate comfortable. Braking performance and handling on wet or dry pavement is fantastic, and the Kinergy ST (H735)’s 70,000 mile warranty is one of the best you’ll find on any touring tire at this price point. No, the Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) doesn’t do well in deeper snow (most touring and all-season tires don’t), and this tire doesn’t handle like a summer or ultra-high-performance tire.
What it does do, however, is deliver long, even wear, and an amazingly quiet and forgiving ride. That’s what a premium touring tire is designed for, and that’s what the Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) does.

Buy this tire only directly thru Simple tire. Do not buy thru Amazon! I purchased tires March 2021. I had Scorpion before this due to Winter Mountains n Snow . They were heavier and I liked them better. I do get better mileage with the Hankook, but too light and noisy.
bought a set on amazon they are good on the highway but unfortunately I travel 10 miles of gravel a day. the rubber is so soft that after only 2000 miles there is big chunks missing from the tread pattern and had a rock puncture one. If you drive any gravel do not purchase these
bought these for a cost effective tire for my daily gas saver. very happy so far! super fast shipping and good prices to boot!
I had a great experience! Easy to order, great prices.. delivered right to the garage for install.
These are the best tires for the price that I have gotten in years. I am 100%impressed with them all the way around. I will be back for more . I go through tires on my 1972 Mustang. I love to roast them.
I am very satisfied with the tires that I purchased. They arrived in just a couple of days. They have a very nice tread pattern. Handiling was much improved, they have real good gripe. Looking forward to seeing how they are for winter. They look like they should have good snow gripe. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
I replaced a brand new set of Cooper Cobra's on my 1969 Pontiac Tempest with these tires. The Cooper's just could not be balanced and I even bought new rims from JEG's. I took them in 4 times, 2 times static and 2 times using a Road Force machine. At over 60 miles an hour I was literally bouncing off the road. The Road Force numbers were in the middle 20's and the manager of the store tried to tell me that was normal. They finally agreed to refund my money and put on the Hankook Kinergy ST's which I bought as they could not order them. The Hankook tires balance out at a 3, 4, 13 and one did hit 23 and was placed on the rear of the car passenger side. Because I had bought the tires from Simple Tire they gave me no paperwork to prove the stats but the technician took me off to the side and gave me that info. I feel a bit of vibration but the car but am quite happy with the results. Having lived in Germany for over 6 years, I am used to driving very fast and want a smooth ride which these tires have given me. I will be buying another set for my Suburban before winter comes here in Wisconsin.
