  • A reputed Chinese tire manufacturer, Fortune Tires is known for its quality, better performance, and greater controllability. As a part of the Prinx Chengshan Corporation, it offers durable tires for light trucks, passenger vehicles, trailers, SUVs, CUVs, commercial vehicles, and off-the-road (OTR) tires. The product portfolio of Fortune includes commercial, all-season, highway, rugged terrain, all-terrain, and mud-terrain tires.

Developed to be used in all axle positions in commercial vehicles, the Fortune FAR602 is a SmartWay-verified commercial tire that offers drivers low rolling resistance for enhanced fuel efficiency. While it boasts upgraded load capacity and higher fuel efficiency, it also features a closed shoulder design to reduce uneven wear and boost tread life. The five-rib and four-groove design helps evacuate water, while its stone ejectors protect the casing from damage. Thanks to its optimized bead bundle, this Fortune tire reduces wear and chafing to enhance durability.

So, is it worth going for? Let's try to answer in this Fortune FAR602 review.

    Features and Benefits

Commercial tires are designed to enhance performance on the axles of trailers and semi-trucks. They are typically used in regional, urban, haul, pickup, and delivery applications. Since commercial tires feature a low rolling resistance design, they offer high fuel efficiency and can be retreaded to prolong their service life. Here are the features and benefits that enhance the Fortune FAR602 rating:

    • All-weather traction: The special rubber compound and construction of the FAR602 promote all-weather traction on dry, wet, and snow, offering drivers high grip to ensure safety. The detailed sipes and unique tread design boost grip as it comes with several biting edges. The tire remains flexible in different temperatures, enhancing traction in summer and winter conditions thanks to the rubber compound. The circumferential grooves eliminate water and slush from the tire footprint to mitigate the risk of hydroplaning.
    • Robust construction: Thanks to the special rubber compound and reinforced internal structure, the Fortune tire features extra load-bearing capability and damage resistance. The tire maintains its ideal shape under driving pressure and load without any deformation, preventing damage to the casing and tread. The commercial tire resists tears, cracks, and punctures, significantly enhancing the service life.
    • Can carry heavy weights: A ply rating of 14 enables the tire to carry heavy weights without losing shape.
    • Enhanced stability: With dense sipes and special groove placement, this uniquely constructed tire enhances stability and traction. It delivers reliable performance in different conditions, including dry, wet, and winter. Its 4-belt construction and optimized bead bundle make it sturdy and reduce wear and chafing.

    Pros and Cons

While the FAR602 offers several benefits, it has some drawbacks, too. Let’s glance over its pros and cons before we sum up the Fortune FAR602 tire review:

I bought a total of 6 tires 4 were drive tires on a Ram 4500 the other 2 were steer tires. The drive tires are holding up but the steer tires only lasted 6months before wearing unevenly.
