Winter traction is a 3/5 just because these tires are on a Rwd vehicle that does poorly in snow to begin with. They perform avg in that dept
This is the second set of these tires installed on our 2009 Chevy Cobalt. These tires wear well and evenly. Replaced the first set at 40,000 miles and the tires still had approximately 20,000 to 25,000 mile left'; I gave the tires to a friend.
Very happy with my choice in tires. The Firestone Precision A/S are excellent in Illinois weather, I have no problems getting up hill in my driveway (which is difficult in all previous cars with new tires). The tires handle great in turns especially in extremely cold conditions. For the prices these are definitely a no brainer!! Great tread life, handles well in all conditions from 80° to -15°, road noise is on the louder side but for all the benefits and prices I don't mind turning up the radio.
Not much time on these tires, but worked well in our Wisconsin snow for the last month. Can tell these are much softer tires than stock, but I buy tires for winter driving... that is what you get. So far, happy with my purchase.
I bought these tires at the beginning of summer almost, and I believe these are the best tires I've ever had. Worth every dime! Thank you to the boys at Simple Tire for helping choose the right ones.
TERRIBLE IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE THE ELDORADOS I SWITCHED TO ARE WAY BETTER AND SAFER!!!
Get technical:
The Firestone Precision Touring is an all-season tire specially designed for drivers that require year-round reliability and ride comfort. Ideal for coupes, sedans, family minivans, and crossover cars, the Firestone Precision Touring tire features a great mix of all-season traction, extended treadwear, and affordability. It is made out of silica-enhanced compound molded into a symmetric design of wide shoulders and interlocking ribs which provide great response and handling on both dry and wet road surfaces. Enhancing the traction on surfaces covered in light sow are the multiple notches and sipes. The four circumferential grooves evacuate water out of the tires to enhance wet traction. The internal structure features twin, high tensile steel belts with a polyester casing to enhance durability, strength, and handling. The wide footprint assists in preventing wear and maintaining stability.
