The American tire company, Firestone, marked its birth in early 1900 as a solid rubber side-wire tire supplier for fire equipment. Later it forayed into automobile tires before getting acquired by the Japanese automotive giant Bridgestone in 1988.

Among its range of all-season tires, the Firestone Destination LE2 scores high in terms of wet and dry performance, wearability, and sturdy carcass. The ribbed tread design with strategic sipes and cuts and solid shoulders with lateral grooves allow it to grip the surface firmly and provide superior traction in both dry as well as wet conditions. The longitudinal grooves disperse water quickly to resist hydroplaning.

The Destination LE2 tire is suitable for minivans, SUVs, CUVs, and light trucks and is available in 15 different sizes ranging from 16 to 20 inches. While promising a longer tread service life, it is backed by the company’s 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty. Let’s check out how it is able to achieve the performance it claims. Keep reading the Firestone Destination LE2 tire review to know the answer.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are manufactured to provide stable performance in all seasons around the year. As an all-season tire, the Destination LE2 too delivers excellent traction and grip in dry and wet conditions. Let’s understand how it does that.

    • All-season traction – Laced with TractionTech technology, the tread resists uneven wear and offers consistent wear throughout the life of the tire. Full-depth 3D sipes provide extra bite for a stronger grip in light snow and wet conditions. The longitudinal grooves with sharp cuts and lateral grooves on the shoulders not only flush water quickly but also firmly grip the surface and provide an exceptionally comfortable ride.
    • Great handling and stability – A ribbed tread design ensures straight-line driving is great while the solid shoulder blocks provide superb traction and stability during cornering and braking. The optimized contact patch not only improves traction and handling but also reduces noise and vibrations.
    • Longer wearability – The special silica compound used in the Destination LE2 resists uneven wear while the ribbed pattern promotes gradual, even wear. The continuous shoulder blocks and optimized tread pattern improve wearability and prolong the service life of the tire. Above all, the 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty underlines the tire’s wearing capability.

Good looking tire. Fair price. Haven't been on long but traditionally is a very good middle of the road tier tire. Good tread life without minimal comfort and noise reduction loss
