A subsidiary of the Japanese company Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Falken was introduced in 1983 and manufactures tires for passenger cars, light trucks, and medium trucks. To create quality ultra-high-performance tires, it uses the technology from motorsports that ensures every tire that comes out of the Falken factory offers great handling and performance.

Built on the traits of the award-winning Azenis RT-615K, the Falken Azenis RT-615K+ takes things a notch higher by lending an excellent level of dry handling and traction. The stylish yet unique tread pattern with large shoulder blocks and solid center rib aids in lending superb high-speed cornering ability and enhanced stability. The 4D Nanotechnology in rubber compounds improves flexibility and adhesion. Well, the tire promises a lot and all at an affordable cost. So, do they actually translate into a real-world winner? Let’s find out in this Falken Azenis RT-615K+ tire review.

    Features and Benefits

Being an ultra-high-performance tire, the Falken Azenis RT-615K+ delivers amazing grip and superb performance on paved roads. How does it do that? Let’s check the features that help it achieve the claimed performance.

Racing-inspired tread compound for incredible grip and performance on racetracks and dry surfaces. The unique tread design with massive shoulder blocks ensures motorsports-level grip and stability with confident cornering. The solid wavy center rib is a great help under heavy acceleration as it reduces wheel spin by reducing the contact-patch void ratio of the tread. This ensures you get quicker performance every time you hit the pedal.

The gorgeous Azenis RT-615K+ is a rare combination of form and function as it not only enhances the visual appeal of the vehicle but also beats its peers when it comes to performance and affordability. The asymmetric tread design of the tire lends superior grip and high-speed performance while ensuring gradual, even wear.

The innovative 4D Nano design with new compounds aids in improving the adhesion and flexibility of the rubber. This leads to improved interlocking of tread with the surface and superior grip, handling, and stability at high speeds. It also assists in keeping the tire cooler by reducing heat generation inside the tire. Moreover, the high-tension carcass improves steering response and aids in high-speed stability.

SimpleTire’s view on Falken Azenis RT-615K+ tires

In the UHP, summer tire category, the Falken Azenis RT-615K+ (starts around $117) takes on the likes of the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (starts around $134), Kumho Ecsta V730 (starts around $111), and Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 (starts around $164). While the Azenis RT-615K+ offers superior handling, the Ecsta V730 and Advan Neova AD09 offer better traction than the Falken.

However, the Azenis RT-615K+ and Ecsta V730 tires are more affordable compared to the other two. In a nutshell, if you want a tire that supports your high-speed driving, looks handsome, and features precise steering response, the Falken should be your choice.

It is a very cost effective 200TW tire, Asides failing comparison against a pilot sport ps4s in the wet, this tire super-seeds the ps4s in the dry. I'd recommend this tire for someone who is looking into tracking their every day car, provided that car is appropriate. Even for the non-track person, this tire is a year round option(California) for performance enthusiasts.
